Dear Birthmom

I’d like to start off this heartfelt letter to you by gratefully saying, “Once upon a time, I was adopted.” No words can describe how amazing you are. You have so much strength, courage, love, and grace by facing a decision that can change your child’s life. Being adopted is very special to me, not just because I’m adopted but because others in my family are too. I hope by telling you my story, it’ll give you peace of mind knowing who I am and the life of unconditional love I would give to your child.

My home is filled with love, family, friends, food, music, dancing, adventures, and so much more. While growing up, my parents provided me with an amazing childhood. I will cherish every moment of every day. Your child’s needs will always be put first, with love, compassion, empathy, and kindness.

I will never be able to thank you enough for this sacrifice you have made, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for considering me to adopt your baby. You’ll be giving me the greatest gift in life. I have so much support from my entire family and my friends I’ve known since childhood. If I have the honor of being chosen, please know that your baby would be so loved by everyone who surrounds me. I will forever be in awe of you because at the end of this beautiful journey together, you ended up choosing me.

My Story

I’m a single, independent woman who is kind, lovable, outgoing, confident, and very caring with a great sense of humor. I have an amazing career. I’ve worked my entire adult life thus far alongside my father, and together we have such a great partnership and relationship. When he decides to officially retire, I will be taking over the family business. This job has also given us many opportunities to travel the world, and I can’t wait to do all these things with my little one. Growing up, I played volleyball and basketball, participated in cheerleading, danced folklorico (which was my favorite), and played the piano for many years. Most of my cousins are boys, so growing up with them always had me engaged in activity. I’ve always envisioned that when the day would finally come, my child would get to play with my cousins’ children and grow up exactly how we did, all together.

 My Extended Family

My family and I are extremely close. We’re supportive of one another and include everyone in our adventures. Growing up, I had the honor of being raised by my great-grandparents and my grandparents. My parents have always been great role models. I have friends whom I consider family and are very dear to me. I treat every one of their children as my nieces and nephews, and I’m known as the “cool aunt.”

I am very family oriented. We get together for every occasion to celebrate, whether it’s for holidays, birthdays, summer vacations, anniversaries, or even just because. Every weekend we get together, either Friday or Saturday and sometimes even both days. During the summertime, we have many cookouts at my parents’ house because they have a pool in their backyard.

I love the gift of life, and I look forward to sharing all my family traditions and knowledge with your beautiful baby. Christmas is my favorite holiday. We make our own menudo and make our very own tamales too for Christmas Day. I enjoy the holidays spent with my family because of everything we get to do before starting a new year with each other.

 My Home

I live in a beautiful four-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath house that was built a few years ago. I had set a goal to start building my family a little at a time, and my house was the first goal to accomplish. It also has a decent-sized backyard that is fenced all around for privacy so that my little one will have space to play. It’s a brand-new neighborhood with lots of parks and very close to my immediate family. I have two dogs: a twelve-year-old Yorkie (male) and an eleven-year-old Yorkie (female). They are extremely lovable toward everyone and really spoiled. I have a stroller for them so we can go on walks around the park that’s right by my house.

 My Journey to Adoption

Since I was young, I knew in my heart I wanted to adopt a baby, just like I was adopted. Perhaps it was always God’s plan. A stable career, the extreme support of my family, and the love I have experienced have given me the desire to finally have a child of my own. I want you to know that because I’ve personally experienced adoption, your child will always love you for the decision you made. I may not know my birthmother, but every day I thank her and appreciate her for making the same sacrifice you are making for your baby. I will always provide a safe home, spiritual guidance, value to everyday life, and an exponential amount of love.
