Dear Birthmom

Dear Expectant Mother,

We can’t really begin to thank you for even considering us. We understand the decision you’re facing can’t be easy, but it is most certainly selfless. We hope knowing more about us will leave you feeling 100% confident we can provide a loving and nurturing family for your child.

Having a child is something we’ve talked about since the early part of our relationship. We cannot wait to welcome a child into our hearts and our home. We’ll give them all the love and support they could need and ensure they’re healthy and happy. We plan to create lifelong memories and to infuse some of the joy we experienced growing up with our own families. We’re so excited that our future child will be afforded both US and UK citizenship giving them so many options for vacations, education and employment opportunities.

We can’t wait to take trips as a family, experience Broadway shows, walk on amazing beaches, and visit our family and friends all over the world. We’ll help them experience new cultures and try different foods. We will encourage them to be inquisitive, learn about the world around them, and do things that make them happy. The possibility of welcoming a child into our family fills us with joy and hope, and we can’t wait to start this amazing journey.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about us and getting to know our family. We hope everything we can give has shone through in this letter.

Our Story

We met through Aaron’s sister, who is a close friend of Neil. Neil has a career in marketing, and Aaron works in property management. We’re both originally from England and attended the same high school in a small rural community. We moved to the U.S. in 2016 to live our own version of the American dream. We both love the theater and enjoy watching shows on Broadway and also in London when we visit. We love being outdoors and enjoy hiking and camping. There are so many fantastic places in America to visit and experience the great outdoors. We enjoy taking our dogs onto the trails near our home. We’re both big foodies and enjoy trying new foods. We also enjoy traveling and have friends and family all over the world. We have a close group of friends and enjoy spending time at each other’s homes.

 Our Extended Family

Neil has two sisters. One lives in Portugal with her husband, son, and daughter; the other lives in the UK. He has an extended family with nine cousins, all of whom have children of their own. He’s also a godfather to three children. His parents retired early and split their time between the UK and Spain but also regularly visit each of their children.

Aaron was adopted into a large family at the age of nine; he has two sisters and three brothers. He grew up on a large farm in the country, where his father keeps cows and sheep. He is a godfather to his cousin’s eldest son. Aaron has a large extended family with seven cousins, all of whom have children of their own. Aaron’s family often throws large family gatherings with cousins, second cousins and beyond.

 Our Home

Our home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a bonus room. The main areas are all open, which makes it really welcoming and homey. We have a lovely yard with a covered patio. Our neighborhood has a community pool, play park, fishing lake, and running trail. The city we live in has lots of great restaurants and hiking and biking trails. We have two dogs and two cats. On the weekends, we love to explore the local hiking trails with the dogs; we spend a lot of time on the art trail, which surrounds our local art museum. We love the holidays, and Christmas is one of our favorite times. We love decorating our home, especially for the fall.

 Our Journey to Adoption

From the early stages of our relationship, we talked about having children, as we’ve watched our friends and siblings grow their families. Aaron was adopted and his family has two biological children and four adopted, so we were keen to create our family via adoption because of that. We’ve created a wonderful home and are excited by the opportunity to share it with a child. Our families are close and supportive, and they have demonstrated the importance of a familial bond. We really want to continue those values and traditions.
