Dear Birthmom

It takes so much strength and courage to consider adoption. I admire that about you. Given the opportunity, I would feel very honored to be considered. It is probably the highest responsibility to choose someone to care for your child. If I am ever blessed in being chosen, I will not take that lightly, knowing that someone is giving me the most precious gift.

I am a very loyal person and feel like I’ve been searching my whole life for someone to give that loyalty to. I’ve come to realize that it’s none other but a child who deserves that degree of loyalty, love, and protection, and I cannot wait to have the opportunity to give it. Considering placing your child for adoption is a very selfless, courageous thing a mother can do. Someone with that character should be able to trust that their child is fully loved and protected, just as you wanted in making your decision. I hope that if I am chosen, you have all the confidence in your decision that your child is loved and exactly where he or she should be.

My Story

Hi! I’m Salena and am so happy you are reviewing my profile. Here is a little bit about me…. When I’m not working, I love being outside with my dogs. I also enjoy working out, specifically doing CrossFit. I love puzzles and board games and usually beat everyone in my family

 My Extended Family

I am the middle child of three girls. My sisters live in different cities but close enough to visit often. They are both married with children, whom I am very close to. In all, I have two nephews and three nieces ranging from nine to 30 years old. One of my nieces lives in my same town. I was 16 when she was born, which allowed us to have a very close relationship. My sisters usually come into town to get all the cousins together at least twice a year. They also come for either Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Christmas is my favorite time of year. When my family visits, it’s all about the food we are going to eat and the activities we are going to do with the kids. We are all very close. I also go visit one of my sisters, who is my best friend, about twice a year. It is within driving distance, so I am able to load up the dogs and go on road trips to visit my niece and nephew.

In town, I still have uncles, aunts, and cousins I grew up with. As kids, we spent a lot of time with our extended family, had many traditions, and made so many memories.

 My Home

I live in the same neighborhood I grew up in. Actually, I live right down the street from my mom’s house, which is my childhood home. When my grandparents moved in with my parents so they could be cared for, I purchased their home, which is right down the street. I have very fond memories of growing up here as a child. We had a huge backyard and spent our days playing outside. That’s probably why I enjoy being outside with my two German shepherds and my three-legged chihuahua.

 My Journey to Adoption

I first looked into adoption about 15-20 years ago. I didn’t think it was the right time for me, so I put it on hold. I don’t want to put starting my own family on hold anymore and am so excited to go through this experience even knowing that it can be a long and difficult road. I know I can offer a child a very loving and loyal home and family and put someone’s mind at ease knowing their child is receiving so much love and care.
