Dear Birthmom

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you so much for your courage. If you choose adoption for your child, we know you will be making an impossible decision, which takes so much selflessness. We can only imagine how much strength, thought, and love has gone into the decisions you are facing, and we have deep respect for you. We want you to know that your child would be raised in a loving home. They would be a cherished addition to our family.

We feel truly grateful for the life we have built together, and we’re ready to share that stability, joy, and commitment with a child. Becoming parents is a dream we’re still hoping to fulfill. We would be honored to care for your child and raise them to be a kind human and to know Jesus. Our promise to you is to love, protect, and support your child in every way we possibly can; we want the best for them through every stage of life. It truly takes a village to raise a child and we are lucky to have our own village to support us through this journey. Our hearts are ready to grow.

We could not be more thankful for you. If you choose this path, we know it has weighed on your heart. Your sacrifice truly means the world to us. Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us and considering our family.

Our Story

We enjoy spending time with our friends and family. We have monthly game nights with friends where we have dinner, catch up, and play games together.

Ashleigh loves reading. Reading offers an escape and allows you to be immersed in another world. It expands your knowledge and vocabulary and helps build your imagination. She also enjoys cooking, baking, and making all things sourdough. Joshua’s hobbies include playing basketball and playing games. He plays basketball with college friends on a weekly basis. He also enjoys playing video games, board games, card games, etc.

We would both love to share our interests with a child, it is such a meaningful way to build connection and create lasting memories. Whether it’s reading together, cooking, or playing games, those shared moments become opportunities for laughter, learning, and bonding. We look forward to introducing a child to the things we enjoy while also encouraging their own unique interests.

 Our Extended Family

Josh is from Kansas, and his family still lives there. Luckily the drive to his family is less than three hours! Josh is the oldest of two and has a younger sister. Josh’s sister and her husband have four beautiful girls. We love our nieces so very much! We get together often to celebrate birthdays and holidays. We love doing activities with the girls, including building legos, coloring, and playing games. Josh’s parents love their grandchildren so much.

Ashleigh is the oldest of three; she has a younger sister and brother. Her younger sister has the cutest little boy. We love our nephew so much, he has been such a joyful addition to our lives. Ashleigh was raised by her mom and stepfather. Ashleigh’s stepfather raised her as his own, and she views him as her dad rather than her stepdad. Ashleigh is very close with her parents and siblings, and she considers her mom one of her best friends. Ashleigh works near her Mema’s house and visits her for lunch almost every day.

Both of our families are thrilled for us as we go through this process. Our families are ready to embrace a child with open arms.

 Our Home

We live in Oklahoma and bought our cute house in 2016, shortly after we got married. Our home was built in 1980 but was remodeled prior to our purchase. We are centrally located and live close to so many stores, restaurants, and activities. We have the two cutest dogs. Our dogs’ names are Juliet and Rory. We adopted Juliet in 2015 and Rory in 2018. They are best friends to each other and to us. They have often been around young children and are great with kids. We love taking them to the parks near us to chase some squirrels!

 Our Journey to Adoption

We are both animal lovers and have made a tradition of visiting zoos and/or aquariums in different states each year. So far we have vacationed together in South Carolina, Kansas, Texas, Florida, Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado, Georgia, and Alabama. We have visited a zoo and/or aquarium in each state.

Our favorite vacation spot was in Colorado Springs. The mountains were gorgeous. We took the train to the top of Pike’s Peak, visited the zoo, rode electric bicycles around the Garden of the Gods and explored the city. The Colorado Springs zoo was one of our all time favorites, the giraffe exhibit was particularly memorable.

We also enjoy visiting botanical gardens in each state. Our favorite botanical garden was in Atlanta. When we visited, the shrubs were sculpted and painted to reflect an Alice in Wonderland theme. It was so cool!
