Dear Birthmom

Thank you so much for reading our profile. We can only imagine what you are going through in these moments and appreciate the time and care you are taking to find the couple and the type of home that feel right. We take this process seriously and want the absolute best for you and your baby, whether you decide to reach out to us or not.

We have felt called to be fathers for a long, long time. As an adoptee, Matthew has dreamed of the stories and lessons he would someday teach as a father. Josh has always felt driven to provide a strong, stable foundation for a household. We are so glad to have found one another because so many of our goals—starting with having a family of our own—are aligned. We will foster a loving, creative, and encouraging environment around your child, if you choose us. Thank you for considering us as the potential fathers of your baby.

Our Story

As a child, Josh dreamed of flying. He contemplated learning to fly in the military but went to flight school instead. He
is now a first officer for the world’s largest airline and is progressing toward becoming a chief pilot. Matthew was a top student and athlete in school and served in the Peace Corps for almost three years after college. He is an urban designer and city planner who wants to design smart, eco-friendly cities and compete in triathlons. We enjoy visiting and hosting family and friends, exploring our city, finding new places to experience (and eat!), traveling, and exercising.

 Our Extended Family

We have a strong network of family and friends filled with people who are very excited for us to grow our household. Over a decade ago, Matthew connected with his biological family, and between his adoptive parents’ and birth parents' households, he is the oldest of eight siblings. He stays in frequent touch with all of them. Josh has a smaller family than Matthew, and we are close to them too. Josh grew up with one sister, who recently had a child.

We have friends and family across the country and see them as often as we can. Despite being spread out, we coordinate vacations and holidays with them, and we make sure to get together for life’s big events, like new kids in the family!

 Our Home

We live in a gated community with our two rescue cats, Fajita and Sven. Our community has families with kids of all ages, and our building has pools and a playroom specifically for young children. Our single-story, two-bedroom, 2.5-bath home has plenty of room for our cats to tumble and our family to grow. Within a ten-minute walk, there is much to do and see—a riverwalk and parks, an outdoor mall, playgrounds, restaurants—and just a short drive away are numerous museums. Also nearby are highly rated schools, both public and private.

 Our Journey to Adoption

Matthew is adopted, as was his sister, and since he was a kid he has hoped to become a father and “pay it forward” through adoption. His parents introduced his adoption story by celebrating “Gotcha Day” on the day they were able to take him home. Josh has always wanted to become a father and provide a stable life and good opportunities for a child or children of his own. We know we are ready to become dads and are excited to build a strong, loving family together.
