Dear Birthmom

Dear Expectant Mother,

There is only one word to describe the challenging decision you have faced in considering adoption, and that is strong. Knowing you are reading this letter and may be considering us is an honor and privilege. We thank you for your courage in making this decision. Please know we are on this journey with you.

We want you to feel confident in knowing that, as fathers, we will cherish and nurture your baby if you choose us. We are committed to giving them the best life possible and ensuring that your baby is given every possible opportunity to achieve their dreams. We will raise them to understand and practice kindness, respect, acceptance, and love toward everybody. We look forward to sharing our passions with them and allowing them to discover their own.

As parents, we will strive to teach them at every opportunity that presents itself, whether we are encouraging them to learn a new instrument or even a new language. We will be an endless supply of comfort and support for your baby throughout the hard times and the good.

Becoming parents is our dream, and we cannot do it without you. Thank you for considering us, and we look forward to meeting you soon.

Our Story

We like to think we have the perfect combination of similarities and differences. Brent is a homebody who has always lived in the same town whereas Matt has traveled to 15 countries around the world. Since first meeting each other in 2016, we have embarked on many adventures together, the greatest of which has been our strong and committed marriage of over four years. Brent is a teacher and enjoys playing the piano and going for runs. Matt is a paralegal and spends his free time reading, watching soccer, and working out. Together we value spending time with friends and watching movies. We have almost watched every movie that was nominated for best picture. For vacations, we typically either go to the beach with Matt’s family or go to Disney World with Brent’s family.

 Our Extended Family

We would not be the people we are today without the support of our families. It is their love and care for us that we hold very dear to our hearts.

Matt was blessed to be born with a twin sister who has always been a best friend to him. Matt’s mom, who lives about 40 minutes away, is ecstatic to become a grandmother and is already thinking of ways to spoil her grandchild. It's a long-held tradition of Matt’s mom to host Christmas dinner for Matt’s grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Matt’s dad and stepmom live in Florida, and we enjoy visiting them as often as we can.

Brent comes from a large family and is one of five. His parents and sisters live in the same town as we do. Brent’s older brother, his wife, and their kids live only about 30 minutes away, and we love every chance we get to see our niece and nephew. His younger brother lives in New York City but comes home often to visit the family. We celebrate many birthdays and holidays crammed together in Brent’s parents’ house with fun and laughter.

 Our Home

We live in a small town in southeastern Pennsylvania where Brent was born and raised. Our home is two stories and has a finished basement, where we enjoy watching movies and completing jigsaw puzzles. We have plenty of yard space to play in and host get-togethers. The neighborhood is completely walkable and houses many friendly families with children. We live within walking distance of most of the schools in the town as well as parks, stores, and restaurants. Our community has a lot of traditions, such as parades, community days, and various festivals. We also live within driving distance from many major cities, like Philadelphia and New York.

 Our Journey to Adoption

From the moment we started dating, one thing that connected us was our desire to have children. We both had a similar vision for our future family, and that is something that has sustained us through the years. After a few years of marriage, we are now ready to expand our family. Brent’s mother and uncle were both adopted into a loving family, and Matt has a close family friend who also has an adopted son. Because of this, adoption was an easy decision for us as we have seen the love adoptive parents give to their children. That love grows in us as well, and now we are excited to be starting our own adoption journey.
