Dear Birthmom
Dear Birthmom
My husband and I literally discussed children on our first date, as we both knew we wanted a family. We both come from large families and know how much we look forward to starting one of our own. On that first date, we both said adoption was how we wanted to grow our family. Adoption is a beautiful process that provides support and care to a mother and a future family together as one. Knowing that neither of them must do it alone. Going through adoption means we get to meet and learn about the child’s biology & heritage. So that we can pass this along to the child over the years. It allows them to understand who they are and that they were very much loved by their mother and family. It also provides the mother with that same chance to learn and understand where their child is going & how much they are going to be loved. It gives her a chance to see what their child’s future has in store and with whom. We understand this difficult choice that is being made for your child’s future. We want to be a part of that with you and help support you through this process, to show you the compassion and love that we will also show to your child for years to come.
Our Story
We would describe our lifestyle as fun with a sprinkle of chaos. Trever works primarily remote at home as a social worker. He gets to help families during challenging times by bringing a positive light to them. We also own a Heating and Cooling Company that TJ runs and manages along with Trever. During the week we usually spend evenings at sporting events, having dinner with family or friends. Other times just spending evenings at home relaxing and enjoying our time together. On the weekends we are almost always with or at a family member’s house making memories. We enjoy weekend trips whether it is a flight to another state to see friends, or a quick trip down south to one of the many lakes around us for a cabin getaway. We also enjoy shopping in our free time - which usually ends up being gifts for our nieces and nephews, but sometimes we spoil ourselves with something for our home.
Our Extended Family
Coming from a large family - with TJ’s 5 siblings and their kids & Trever with 6 siblings and their children - this child will be loved by more family members than we have room to list. We live within 5 miles of our family, and we have dinner and attend sporting events weekly with all of our siblings and their children. We all take turns babysitting the kids as needed and helping out by taking the kids to sports, or concerts, or after-school events. Both our families are very big on spending time together, at one of our homes talking, laughing and playing games or movie nights, whatever we can think of, just as long as we are all together making memories. We also take family vacations together, we love to travel to the beach or go on a cruise together. Allowing our children to grow and make amazing memories together and as a family. In all, family time is a major aspect and important part of our lives. Our children will always have family near and close to them.
Our Home
Our home is nestled in a newly constructed subdivision, with a brand-new early learning center and elementary school just a block away. The middle school and high school can also be seen from our home. We chose this area because of the growth of young families around us and the amazing school district it provides & being a small town and close community. Our home is warm and welcoming to everyone with lots of room to grow as a family. It is the center for our family gatherings & the door is always open. We have 2 loving dogs, Jax being 10, Frank being 2 - both amazing with children and can't wait to welcome a little brother or sister of their own one day.
Our Journey to Adoption
What I love about Trever is his positive outlook, which he brings to every scenario. This is one of the first things I noticed about him as we were dating. He always found a way to bring a positive light to a situation along with his goofy self. The second thing that drew me to him was his passion for his family and the importance they play in his daily life.
As for what drew me (Trever) to TJ is his sense of how important family time is, even in the chaos of running and owning a business he is always available for family and prioritizes them. His personality pulled me in for the win with his comical and laid-back personality and his drive to not only see himself succeed but also those around him.
