Dear Birthmom

We cannot thank you enough for taking the time to consider us as prospective parents for your baby. Welcoming our first child through adoption was a whirlwind of emotions, and we witnessed the strength it takes to make such a tough decision. This must be a difficult decision to choose parents for your child, and we do not take that lightly. We cannot truly understand what you are going through but admire your courage. What we can tell you is that we want to give your child all the love we can.

As mothers, we will raise your child in a home surrounded by love and support. We want your child to experience as much as possible growing up. We will expose them to sports, different cultures, local festivals, travel, and education. We want to help your baby become the exact person they are meant to be. This baby will have so much love, not only from us as his or her mothers but our extended families and you.

There are numerous emotions during this journey. Writing this letter is so surreal knowing you will be on the other end reading it, trying to make a huge decision for yourself and your child. Your amazing strength, courage, and unconditional love for this baby that led you to consider adoption proves how amazing you are. We can’t wait to get to know you and be able to raise your baby with a similar unconditional love, should you decide to meet us and choose us as your child’s adoptive parents.

Our Story

We met working together in a daycare and were friends at first. After some time, we both knew there was something more between us, which is when our relationship began. We have been together for ten years and married for three of those. We are both nurse practitioners. Brooke works in a family practice, and Emily works in oncology. We love spending time with our son and his many cousins, especially at the lake house in the summer. We have three friendly miniature dachshunds. Emily is very loving and loyal. Brooke is very kind and passionate. We get together with some of our closest friends who have children on a regular basis for playdates. Our son is very playful and inquisitive and loves being around other kids. We cannot wait to grow our family again.

 Our Extended Family

Brooke has three brothers and a sister, who have provided her with five nieces and a nephew whom she loves to spoil. Her parents have been happily married for over 30 years. They all enjoy getting together, having dinner, and celebrating birthdays. They have an annual Christmas cookie day, where they spend all day making and decorating cookies! Brooke visits her family regularly, and everyone is excited at the prospect of a new baby joining in on all of the festivities.

Emily is the youngest of three children. Her brother and his wife have five kids, three girls and two boys. Her sister and brother-in-law adopted their son in March 2018. Her family gets together for holidays and birthdays, along with the occasional cookout from time to time. They love to get all the cousins together to ride ATVs, jump on the trampoline, and just play together. Growing up, Emily spent every Christmas Eve with her extended family, but once the family grew to over fifty people, no single house could accommodate all the fun and laughter! She would love to restart this tradition of family Christmas Eve with her own family.

 Our Home

We live in Indiana in a three-bedroom, ranch-style home with a large fenced-in backyard on a cul-de-sac with lots of kids of various ages on our street. Our house is in one of the best school districts in the area. There is a beautiful park close to our home with a great walking path for family strolls or bike rides. One of our favorite activities is visiting the award-winning children’s zoo in our town. Our town has many festivals throughout the summer and fall that we enjoy attending each year. We also love visiting our lake house on the weekends in the summer months and spending time with our extended families.

 Our Journey to Adoption

From the very beginning of our relationship, we have both wanted a family. We considered the many options for creating and growing our family, but adoption was the only path that felt right and we were at peace with. Both of our extended families have adopted children, and we had a great experience with our son and his birth mother. We adopted our first son in June 2019 and are ready to grow our family again through adoption. We have so much love for our little boy and are so ready to welcome another child to our family.
