Our Story
Hi! We’re Kristen and David, a couple who has been happily married for ten years. Our story began in southern Arizona, where we met playing Ultimate Frisbee. Kristen is a teacher, and David works from home as an executive in a defense contracting company. During the week, we love hosting family dinners and spending time with friends at our home. On weekends, we’re all about getting outdoors, exploring nature, and staying active with our two dogs. David is a big sports fan who enjoys watching live games and cheering for his favorite teams with his three brothers. Kristen, on the other hand, loves shopping and unwinding at home with a great book. Both of us share a favorite hobby—traveling! We especially love visiting Europe and spending time with Kristen’s family who lives over there.
Our Extended Family
We both come from tight-knit, loving families. David, the youngest of four brothers, grew up surrounded by sports and water activities, which brought his family closer. Each year, his family gathers to attend a game and enjoy quality time together. With one of his brothers and his parents living by the lake, the family often bonds over lake activities. Thanksgiving is particularly special in David’s family as everyone—including six nieces and nephews—comes together to celebrate and give thanks.
Kristen is the youngest of three siblings. We live just over an hour from her parents and visit frequently to relax by the pool. One of her brothers lives nearby, and we often host him for dinners and gatherings. Her oldest brother lives in Hawaii, and we stay closely connected with him and our nephew. Kristen has a large Mexican family on her dad’s side, many of whom live nearby, and we enjoy festive gatherings throughout the year. Her mom’s family is Austrian, and we travel to Europe regularly to connect with them and celebrate her heritage.
Family traditions and time together are incredibly important to us, and we cherish every opportunity to strengthen these bonds.

Our Home
We live in a small military community that is very tight knit. Both of our careers support the men and women serving this country. Our home is on a very quiet and safe street with wonderful neighbors. While normally very slow paced, our neighborhood is known for our Halloween celebration, where we attract more than 1,500 kids a year. We have two dogs, Henry and Lonie. Henry is a cockapoo who enjoys acting larger than he is. Lonie is an energetic Dutch shepherd who has a great love for toys.
Our Journey to Adoption
We started talking about what our family would look like and what we wanted when we were dating. After getting married, we thought it would just happen, but God had a different plan for us. We have loved being a part of watching our nieces and nephews as well as our friends' children grow and flourish and feel we can give that same love and affection to a child we would be lucky enough to adopt. We have watched the joy that has come to a pair of our best friends who came from a similar situation as us and have seen the positive influence that can be left on the world through the growth of their adopted son.
