Dear Birthmom

We are grateful you have taken the time to read our profile and gotten to know us as potential parents for your child. You are faced with an incredibly difficult decision, and we are inspired by your courage, selflessness, and bravery. We have dreamed of expanding our family and are grateful for the opportunity to do so with your help.

We are committed to providing your child with a safe, loving, and accepting home where they will feel valued, encouraged, and supported. We will work hard to create an environment where your child will enjoy quality time with family, explore the outdoors, be exposed to different ways of participating in and serving their community, and become a person of integrity. We will teach your baby the value of love, the importance of building community, the power of acceptance, and how to try again.

This is a lifelong commitment. We will respect and support the level of involvement you feel most comfortable with to provide your child with a fulfilling life. We are committed to this experience and opportunity. We would be honored to teach your child the love and support we have been blessed with in our lives. Thank you again for considering us in your adoption process.

Our Story

Hey! We met on a sunny winter afternoon planning to walk a mile or two. Two miles turned into eight. Fueled by sunlight and easy conversation, we discussed our shared values: family time, retreating outdoors, serving our community, and living with integrity. From this first walk, it was clear our paths wouldn’t just cross, but merge.

Our love grew through hikes, family dinners, and cozy evenings watching a good show. About a year later, we married in 2020 with a small outdoor ceremony surrounded by loved ones. Early in our marriage, we experienced the heartbreak of miscarriage. Walking through grief together deepened our love and strengthened our commitment to one another, reminding us to hold tightly to hope and to each other.

In 2022, our son Gene was born. Parenthood has multiplied our joy and taught us to slow down, notice everyday wonders, and embrace the small moments. We look forward to growing our family through adoption and sharing the love that has carried us through every season.

 Our Extended Family

We are both blessed to have close-knit families with robust traditions that keep us connected. We grew up enjoying regular visits to Grandma’s house, family-centered birthday parties, annual holiday traditions, and cabin or camping trips. We still see Chris’s family often, including an annual trip to the rodeo where our nieces compete in 4H, family gatherings for birthdays, and annual Easter and Christmas celebrations that Landa’s mother joins as well. Landa’s mother is our daily childcare for our son, and we are blessed to share our multigenerational home with her.

These traditions have greatly impacted who we have become as individuals and as a family. Bedtime stories, summer camping trips, and time spent outside on the weekends are traditions we have established as a family that keep us grounded and connected. Weekly walks and gatherings with friends and their families help us to celebrate the community we have built and provide us with support and perspective as we navigate parenthood. We hope to be able to share these traditions and memories with your child, providing them with a foundation of positive relationships that will provide lifelong support and encouragement.

 Our Home

Our home is a reflection of our family; it is full of memories and love, sometimes messy, and always lively. We live in a comfortable three bedroom rambler style home in a small, tight-knit community. This is home to the three of us and Landa’s mother (we’re in the process of building a mother-in-law unit on the same property). Our home also boasts a beautiful garden where we grow blueberries, tomatoes, beans, peas, zucchini, strawberries, flowers and more. We live within walking distance of our local elementary school, middle school, and library. We love that we live a short drive from many beautiful hiking trails, community parks, and places to enjoy nature.

 Our Journey to Adoption

to make an annual camping trip (usually to Mount Rainier). We love to start our day with a morning hike before the sun reaches too high into the sky, spending midday sharing a meal and swapping stories around a picnic table, and ending the evening huddled around a campfire reminiscing about our adventures. As our family has grown, these trips now include digging in the dirt, collecting pinecones, creating stories of forest creatures, and reading books around the campfire. Our love for each other and passion for being outside nurture imagination, curiosity, and an adventurous spirit that we hope to pass on.
