Dear Birthmom

Dear Expectant Mother,

First, thank you. I may not know your name yet, but I already hold you in my heart with so much respect and care. I can only imagine how many thoughts and emotions are running through your mind. Please know that I see your strength in even considering this path and I am honored that you are taking a moment to learn about me.

I want you to know that I do not take this lightly. I see adoption not just as a way to grow my family, but as a lifelong promise to honor your love and bravery. If you choose me, I will raise your baby with compassion, patience and joy. Your child will grow up knowing where they come from and how deeply they are loved, not only by me but by you, too. I will speak your name with love and your child will know their story is rooted in courage.

I do not claim to have all the answers, but I can promise this: I will love your child with my whole heart every single day. I will nurture their curiosity, support their dreams and celebrate every part of who they are. They will grow up knowing they are safe, valued and free to become exactly who they are meant to be. No matter what you decide, I am wishing you peace, strength and love as you make this incredibly important choice.

With deep gratitude,

Radhi

My Story

I work as a Montessori teacher with children ages two and a half to six and I truly love what I do. I teach at a small school (only four classrooms) where everyone knows each other. It feels more like a school family than just a school, and I am so excited that my child will be coming with me each day, surrounded by love and community.

On weekends, I like to explore. Sometimes that means a quick trip to New York, Philly, Boston, Washington, D.C. or even L.A. I love finding new places, new experiences and making memories and I cannot wait to bring a child along on those adventures. I also value emotional well-being and personal growth. I make time for journaling, reflecting, meditating and working with my life coach to stay grounded and present. These habits help me show up with intention and I hope to raise a child who feels safe, supported and confident in who they are.

 My Extended Family

Family is everything to me. I live with my dad and younger sister. My dad is my rock, he’s supported me through every step of life and has been my greatest source of strength, especially after we lost my mom to ALS almost four years ago. He’s absolutely thrilled at the thought of becoming a grandparent, and I know he’ll be the kind of grandpa who tells the best stories, gives the warmest hugs, and sneaks extra treats when he thinks I’m not looking.

My sister is one of the happiest, most determined people I know. She radiates joy and reminds me daily that obstacles don’t define you, how you face them does.

Beyond my immediate family, I have a strong support system of extended family and friends. My two best friends are sisters in every way that matters, and their kids already consider my future child a built-in sibling. My home is a place where friends and family drop by unannounced, and love is always present.

I also have extended family in India and chosen family in Japan who are just as excited. I can’t wait to travel with my child so they can feel connected to the people and cultures that already love them.

 My Home

I live in a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home in a quiet, close-knit New Jersey neighborhood full of community spirit. I serve on our HOA board as the events planner, organizing things like our annual tree lighting, trunk-or-treat, and summer block party. It’s a joyful place with caring, supportive neighbors; many have already offered to help and babysit!

Just a street away is a dog-friendly park, perfect for daily walks and future stroller strolls with the baby. In the summer, we often head to the Jersey Shore to soak up the sun, build sandcastles, and make memories.

We plan to move closer to where I teach before the baby turns two. I’ll be bringing the baby to school with me, where we’re surrounded by loving, supportive educators.

 My Journey to Adoption

If I had to pick a favorite place in the world, it would be Japan. I studied there as a student, later returned as a teacher and even worked as a trip coordinator; traveling there five times a year. It became a second home, and I can’t wait to share it with my child someday.
One of my favorite memories is performing in London during the 2012 Olympics. My dance team was invited to perform at Warwick Castle and again at Island Gardens as the Olympic Stadium was being prepared for the closing ceremonies. The energy and connection were unforgettable.

But some of the most meaningful adventures happen at home. I love to read- books are always arriving! Reading sparks imagination and helps us grow in empathy and curiosity.
