Filling out the information together for our family profile was an exciting experience, but this part, the personal letter, took many days and many drafts. Through much of the adoption process, we have been focused on one goal, adopting a child. We have spent the last few days really thinking about you and what you have gone through and also the enormity of the decisions you have had to make and yet to make. Our decision to adopt and go on this journey is a very selfish one; we want to be parents and raise a child and give that child all the love and support we have. We tried to have a child on our own, and for us, adoption was an easy decision. Your decision, however, is a very selfless one; giving your child to a loving couple so he or she can experience and have all the things that we have to give. In the end, no matter if it's the birth parent(s) or adoptive parents, loving your child comes in many ways, and we think that only parents like us can fully understand that. Together, the word "parent" will forever be attached to you as the birth parent and us as the adoptive parents. Our child will be a child born with more love than most.
