Dear Birthmom

Filling out the information together for our family profile was an exciting experience, but this part, the personal letter, took many days and many drafts. Through much of the adoption process, we have been focused on one goal, adopting a child. We have spent the last few days really thinking about you and what you have gone through and also the enormity of the decisions you have had to make and yet to make. Our decision to adopt and go on this journey is a very selfish one; we want to be parents and raise a child and give that child all the love and support we have. We tried to have a child on our own, and for us, adoption was an easy decision. Your decision, however, is a very selfless one; giving your child to a loving couple so he or she can experience and have all the things that we have to give. In the end, no matter if it's the birth parent(s) or adoptive parents, loving your child comes in many ways, and we think that only parents like us can fully understand that. Together, the word "parent" will forever be attached to you as the birth parent and us as the adoptive parents. Our child will be a child born with more love than most. We are extremely thankful for the opportunity to become parents and start a family. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile, and we know you'll make the best decision for your child.

Our Story

We met each other years ago in college but did not reconnect until later, fell in love, and married. We consider ourselves a fun and happy couple that enjoys each other's company. As a couple, we enjoy walking, riding bikes together, or sitting outside in the yard. We often play games with each other, whether it's board games, cards, or other competitive sporty games; we love the fun and competition. We find time to go to Phillies baseball games and Eagles football games, and we really enjoy going to venues to see concerts and performances. Luckily, we have many of the same interests, but we also like experiencing new things. One of our favorite things to do is planning trips and traveling, and we would love to include a new little passenger on our journeys!

 Our Extended Family

We are both very fortunate to come from large families that value traditions and togetherness. Ellen comes from a big Greek family, and we spend a lot of time together with her large extended family. Steven also comes from a large family and has 7 siblings and several nephews and nieces. The most difficult decision during the holidays is deciding which family to visit, and we end up visiting both families quite often. Both of our families are close; both in proximity and personally in our lives. Family parties, holidays, and other get-togethers are monthly occurrences in both of our families. We have enjoyed extended family vacations to ski resorts in the winter as well as beach holidays in the summer and other celebrations throughout the year.

 Our Home

We live in a suburban township in Pennsylvania. Our home is the end unit of a 3-bedroom townhome with an attached garage and private yard. Our community is within a short walk to the middle of town. The town where we live is not only historic but also includes a strong and lively mix of shops and restaurants. Our school district is the 2nd best in the county, and we are ½ hour drive to cities such as Philadelphia and Trenton and also 1 ½ hour drive to both New York City and the South Jersey beaches. We have two amazing, child-friendly dogs, Archie (3.5 yrs) and Edith (3 yrs). They are mini Aussidoodles and are hypoallergenic.

 Our Journey to Adoption

Steven already had two adult children, and when we married, we were ready to start our journey to have a family of our own. Since we are a little older, adoption was always an option in this journey. We tried the traditional way for the first few years and went through rounds of IVF and embryo transfers last year, and were unsuccessful. We both knew we wanted to be parents, and it did not matter how we did it, and we found Angel Adoptions and started our next journey!
