Dear Birthmom

Dear Expectant Mother,

Your courage and strength are evident. Your choice for adoption must come with so many emotions woven throughout the whole process. While we cannot understand this decision fully from your standpoint, we certainly acknowledge how brave and loving you are. Adoption is the most beautiful process from start to finish, and it is something that only God could bring to fruition.

We hope to provide a safe space full of love for your little one. While we know this decision was not easy for you, please rest assured that you are also a part of our family and our story. We would love to be a part of your story.

Right now, we have no idea who you are, where you are from, or what brought you to the decision to place your child for adoption. You might not even be expecting at the time we’re writing this letter. But since we were accepted into the program, we have asked our family and friends to pray a simple prayer: Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, we pray you are having a great day today. Please know of our support for you and our excitement to meet you very soon.

All the best,
Sarah + Martin

Our Story

Hi! We’re Sarah and Martin. We were both born into large families within a uniquely tight-knight Catholic community. We first met in grade school through Martin’s best friend, who just so happened to be in the same school and class as Sarah. We were friends throughout childhood and reconnected in 2019 through the help of a mutual friend and a popular dating app. Sarah is a compassionate, responsible, and fiercely determined woman who loves the outdoors, traveling, crafting, and sparking a deeply intentional conversation with anyone she meets. Martin is a fun, charismatic, and effusively friendly guy with a big personality who loves cooking, watching his favorite sports teams, and connecting with others. We both value our faith, our community, and, above all else, finding joy in life. We celebrated our wedding in January 2023 and are excited to take the next step in our relationship and build our family.

 Our Extended Family

Our families are a significant part of our stories. We both were raised in large families with multiple cousins and aunts and uncles. Martin is one of four siblings, and Sarah is the oldest of two children. Martin’s dad is one of seven children, and his mom is one of six. Sarah’s mom is one of ten siblings, and most of Sarah’s family lives in the same city and areas surrounding the city.

We love how close our families are. We wouldn’t be where we are without their support and guidance throughout the years. It is not lost on us that we are very lucky to have such a large family that truly cares about each other and celebrates all of life’s joys together.

 Our Home

We live in a neighborhood 15 minutes from a thriving city in the Southeast. We live five minutes from Sarah’s childhood home. Our community is special in that we both have family members in very close proximity, and we attend the same church that meant so much to both of us growing up. We love our community and our city, and we don’t plan to leave anytime soon. We would choose to send any child of ours to one of the Catholic schools in the area. We have a three-year-old Corgi named Murphy. He is a very unique dog with a lot of love to give. He provides us with endless amounts of laughter and joy.

 Our Journey to Adoption

Adoption was always a part of our family plan. Even before we started dating, we independently planned to adopt children later in our lives. But our desire to adopt goes deeper than simply wanting to expand our family. While we are excited and ready to welcome a child into our home, our desire stems from the opportunity to serve and assist any expecting mother as she embarks on this wonderfully beautiful and challenging journey. We know this journey will help us grow both individually and as a couple, and we cannot wait to meet the little one!
