Dear Birthmom

It is impossible to truly describe how honored and blessed we are to even be considered to be a part of your journey. Thank you for being so selfless and brave. You are going through something we could never imagine, and we pray this process goes as smoothly as possible for you.

If you decide we are the right couple for you, your baby will immediately be welcomed into our families. We will all love him or her with our whole hearts. We will raise your child with the attention, dedication, and love he or she deserves. He or she will be treasured and learn more board and card games than you can imagine. We will all spend time on the farm where Jessie grew up, exploring and playing in nature. Every day will be something to be grateful for, even the tough ones. Your baby will know that you are the reason this was all possible.

There is no greater honor than being chosen to raise your child to help them reach their fullest potential, surrounded by love, family, and friends. Thank you again for your time, and we wish you comfort and peace as you continue on your journey, with whomever it leads you to.

Our Story

We are Blake and Jessie from Iowa. Our story began in college in 2015, where we quickly became friends, remained close, and then started dating in 2019. The first year of our relationship was long distance, with Jessie in Philadelphia and Blake in Iowa. Not long after Jessie moved back to Iowa, Blake proposed in 2020, and we got married in 2021! Blake is a mental health therapist and loves going to the gym and watching movies. Jessie is a cake decorator and enjoys painting and baking. We both love reading, listening to podcasts, and going on walks together. We have a “date night” every week, where we sit at the table to eat supper and then play a game. We have also enjoyed going bowling and ax throwing and learning new dances. We go to church most weekends and love traveling to get together with our families.

 Our Extended Family

Blake's parents are recently retired teachers and have been enjoying traveling in their free time. His parents often stop by on their way to or from one of their destinations. We get to see Blake’s younger sister multiple times a year. We live about three hours from Blake's parents and another hour from his sister. Blake has a very large family on his dad’s side. They are pretty spread out, but we often come together a few times a year for life events or holidays.

Jessie has an older brother and sister and a younger sister. All of them live within a three-hour drive of each other and where they grew up: the farm that has been in the family for about five generations. Her dad is a farmer, and her mom works at a college. We all get along great! We love playing board games and cards or tossing a football or bocce ball around. It doesn’t matter as long as we are together! We live close to her grandma, and most of her cousins, aunts, and uncles live in the state. We can be a rowdy bunch. There are always lots of laughs when we get together.

 Our Home

Our home is a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath, split-level house in Iowa. We know many of our neighbors and get along well. Our neighbors are mostly couples with a wide age range of children. We live on a quiet street that is close to multiple main roads. It is a great, safe neighborhood that we could see ourselves living in forever. Our yard has lots of plants and room for our dog, Otto, to run and explore. He is a Labradoodle who loves to play and cuddle! He is still a puppy, born 8/4/22. We go on walks all around our neighborhood, and he has friends on just about every street! Exploring parks and walking paths is always a fun time.

 Our Journey to Adoption

We want to adopt because we believe parenting is one of the highest goods and greatest joys. We have been trying to naturally start our family for about a year and haven’t been able to yet. We feel we have been called to become parents through adoption. We know that no matter what happens, our goal is to have multiple children; a loud, full home is our dream! Blake has worked with adopted children and families and has seen the struggles along with the incredible impacts it can have. We want to be a part of that amazing experience. Two of Jessie’s cousins are adopted, and we can’t imagine our family without them.
