Dear Birthmom
Dear Birthmom
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to get to know us. It is with gratitude and appreciation that we write to you. We are certain you are feeling many emotions at once, and we may never be able to understand what you are experiencing in this moment. Take a deep breath and know that whatever decision you make will be the right one for you and your baby. We want to express how much respect we have for you for considering adoption.
Should you choose us, your baby will be cherished. They will always be safe, loved unconditionally, and have our ongoing encouragement throughout their life.. As they grow, we will strive every day to help them understand who they are and where they came from. We will think of you and be grateful for your act of love every day forward and make sure your baby knows we are able to love them, because you loved them first. We hope you find peace in your decision. It would be an honor of a lifetime if you chose us.
All our love,
Kari and Matt

Our Story
Our story began thirteen years ago when we met the day after Christmas, through Kari’s best friend. We got married in the spring of 2016, and just celebrated our 10 year anniversary! We are both down to earth, affectionate, and open minded. Kari is driven, understanding, and a nurturer. As a certified child life specialist, she cared for hospitalized children and promoted positive coping during one of the hardest times of their lives. Since adopting our daughter in 2025, Kari has become a stay at home mom and can't imagine life any other way. We agreed that Kari staying home would be best for our daughter's development. Matt is optimistic, creative, and a critical thinker who excels as a software engineer. At home, he is a patient and thoughtful dad that is always teaching us something new. We love being active outdoors and spending quality time with family. But most importantly, we love playing with our 1 year old daughter and giving her exciting new experiences, like swimming and gymnastics classes!
Our Extended Family
We value spending time with our families above anything else and see them as our best friends. Both of our parents live within 30 minutes of us. Matt and his twin sister are the oldest of five, with three younger sisters. All of Matt’s siblings work in healthcare and are a wealth of knowledge. Kari is the middle child of five. She has an older brother, an older
sister, and two younger brothers. Three out of four of Kari’s siblings are adopted, as well as Kari.
We have one niece and two nephews we love to spend time with. They are ages 5, 6, & 8. We enjoy taking them to special events, playing around the house or going to the park. They are always the highlight of every occasion, and our family is very excited to add to the bunch!
We see our family at least once every week, usually meeting up to go to dinner, or just visit. During football season, it is tradition that we gather with Matt’s family every weekend to eat together and watch the Packers play (and hopefully win). We also look forward to going on an extended family vacation every year to visit somewhere new. Last year we went to Disney World!

Our Home
We bought our first home in 2024 and it all still feels very new to us! It has been everything we have ever envisioned for raising a family. When we walked through our home for the first time, we could picture our lives there, raising children in a safe and loving home. We could envision children helping decorate the Christmas tree and planting a garden in the backyard. They have space to run and play with their dog, Poe, and cats, Ira and Ari. Our home is in a quiet neighborhood with a countryside feel, yet just minutes away from everything we love; including our extended family, our community, and miles of bicycle trails. Our closest neighbors have young children, which has been wonderful for our 1 year old daughter. They will be built-in best friends and go to school together!
Our Journey to Adoption
Our hearts are filled with hope for our daughter to have the opportunity of a sibling. Kari and her siblings were adopted. This allowed them a unique bond that many siblings don't have the opportunity to have. This is what we hope for our children. We understand the importance of the connection between a child and birthmother, if this is what the birthmother desires. We have a healthy relationship with our daughter's birthmother and think of her everyday. Following 7 years of infertility, we were blessed to have adopted our daughter in 2025. We feel we are one step closer to our dreams coming true, and we have never looked forward to anything more than we look forward to being parents again!
