Dear Birthmom

This is by far the most emotional letter we have ever written, and we don't feel these words will ever be enough. We are thankful to even be considered to raise your child and show them so much love. Thank you, thank you, thank you for choosing to give birth and giving your baby the chance to see and do so many things.

We can’t even come close to imagining what you are feeling. We are so proud of you. Your baby is already so cared for and loved. We are looking forward to being able to get to meet you and connect at any level you’re comfortable with. This is an emotional roller coaster, and we want you to know how admirable you are on this journey.

Our Story

We have been inseparable since our first smoothie shop date in 2020 and got married on October 6th, 2023. We are extremely excited about parenthood and expanding our traditions and adventures. Marina has been in the performing arts industry for about 20 years. She currently teaches preschool gymnastics as well as preteen and teen aerial classes. She also performs aerial silks and lyra on her own time. Kayra has been in the fitness/wellness industry for ten years working in corporate wellness and personal training. She enjoys running and cycling when she gets the chance. Together we enjoy spending time with extended family in Louisiana, taking our dogs to parks and dog-friendly restaurants, traveling to new places, and exploring local theater arts, events, and activities around the city.

 Our Extended Family

Most of Kayra’s extended family is in Louisiana. Her mom passed away in 2006, and she stays close to her grandparents, dad, sisters, nieces, and nephews. It is always a fun and exciting time when we get to visit our Louisiana family. Being in Texas, we try to see them at least every other month. The entire family is very outgoing and loves to talk, so we can sit and chat for hours when we visit.

Marina’s family is from Indiana and Texas. She is an only child and very close to her parents, who live ten minutes down the street from us. Marina’s grandparents on her dad’s side live in Indiana, and we visit every Christmas. It is tradition to make homemade cookies and make snowmen every year! On Marina’s mom’s side, we visit her aunt, uncle, and cousins in Austin, Texas, and always have a great time playing board games with the family.

 Our Home

We live in a three-bedroom house we purchased in 2021 in a Texas neighborhood 15 minutes away from most attractions. There is a children’s playground two blocks down the street from our house. There is also a beautiful walking trail with water in the neighborhood. Our fur babies are Cooper, Elsa, and Kali. Cooper is a 12-year-old teacup yorkie, Elsa is a 10-year-old Lab, and Kali is a 9- year-old kitty. They are all very sweet and love to cuddle. They tell us every day how much they want a little sibling to play with!

 Our Journey to Adoption

Being from the LGBTQ community, we have always thought about adopting. The thought of caring for and loving a child unconditionally is extremely exciting to both of us. Every day we imagine being able to share different traveling experiences, events, and activities with a child. Marina works with young children and has seen the connection between parents and their little ones. We can’t wait to share our lives with a child and grow our family.
