Dear Birthmom

We realize we cannot know what you might be feeling right now, and while this profile is only a peek into who we are, we want to thank you for taking the time. Your decision to take the path of adoption shows what a beautiful and courageous heart you have, and we truly admire your strength in making this difficult decision.

Since adopting our daughter, we have realized how much we have to share with your child, and we hope our story speaks to you. We promise to provide them with a warm, safe, loving home full of life experiences and snuggles. Since becoming parents, our world has completely changed, and we truly live to give our daughter everything she needs to feel safe, loved, and happy; we will do the same for your child. We will make sure they are given a good education and tools to help them navigate their future but also show them how to enjoy life and experience new places and things.

We know this decision will connect us for life and hope you are interested in getting to know more about us as we would love to learn more about you and go further along this journey together.

Our Story

We are so excited to be on this journey to grow our family through adoption again and can’t wait to shower your baby with love. In our free time, we go to our local zoo, street festivals, and Saturday morning farmers market. A lot of our time is spent hanging out with friends and their children. We get together regularly and have fun watching the kids play and create tiny people memories. We also really enjoy staying home playing yard games, grilling out, gardening, or just laying around in the pool. We both love our jobs and are lucky to have a lot of flexibility for family time. Adam is a manager at a regional bank, and Amanda does data analytics working from home. We absolutely love being outside and enjoy living somewhere with all the seasons. We have white Christmases, summers in the pool, and everything in between!

 Our Extended Family

We get together with Adam’s family a lot for pool days and game nights. Adam’s parents have lived in the same home for more than 40 years, and it is an amazing place to spend time as a family. We see Adam’s sister and her family often as she babysits Scarlett a few days a week. The kids play all day, and she comes home a happy, worn-out little girl; we are so happy all the kids are so close. Our favorite family tradition is spending time with Adam’s family on Christmas Eve. It’s usually around 25 people, and we make entirely too much food, play tons of group board games, and belly laugh for hours.

Amanda’s mom and stepdad live nearby, and their house is a super fun place for kids. They have chickens, dogs, a tortoise, and a ton of other animals to play with, and no one ever goes home hungry. Amanda’s dad retired early, packed up and moved to the beach in Florida, and now lives a few hours from her sister. We go down several times a year to visit and get out on the water.

Our entire family is so excited about the idea of adding another baby to the fun.

 Our Home

We have lived in our central Illinois home for almost ten years. Our neighborhood is full of children, and while our house is in the middle of town and walking distance to a lot of fun activities, we have a creek full of wildlife behind us that is relaxing to watch when we’re just hanging around the yard. We have two rescue dogs. Meeko is happy to help anyone that wants to work on their biceps and play fetch with him for hours. Penny is the sweetest girl and just likes to lay around and LOVES everyone. They both are great with kids and have been enjoying all the benefits of baby food being dropped on the ground!

 Our Journey to Adoption

We’ve both always wanted to be parents but over the years have suffered several miscarriages. While it was challenging, it proved we can work through anything and we’re a good team. It also taught us to not take family for granted, which is why we are grateful adoption has given us the opportunity to be parents. Our first adoption journey was such a whirlwind because we found out Scarlett’s mother had picked us after Scarlett was already born. The shock of becoming parents overnight was quickly overshadowed by the respect we had for her birthmom and the love we immediately felt when we met Scarlett. Adoption has given so much to us, and we can’t wait to share our joy with another child.
