Our Story
We met in New York City through friends in 2008 and started dating in 2013. Peter proposed four months into our relationship, and we were married in 2015. In 2016 we brought home our little furbaby, Marlow, who is a mini Labradoodle and a redhead like her mama, Sacha. After leaving NYC in 2020, we moved to Georgia, where Sacha continues to be a flight attendant and Peter had a complete career change that took him from the advertising world to starting his own catering business. We were both born on the same day, so we try to make it a fun day for the both of us! When we aren’t cooking for each other or for our business, we love spending time at the beach, taking walks through our neighborhood with our dogs, Marlow and Maisey, or curling up with a good book.
Our Extended Family
Our extended families are not that large but are very unique. Sacha has one sister, who also lives in Georgia, and a brother, who lives in Spain. Her mother lives in Switzerland but visits Georgia a lot. Peter’s parents, who have been married for over 60 years, live in New Jersey. He has an older brother who lives in New York and is married with two daughters. Each year we travel to Florida for a week of family fun.
Christmas and Hanukkah are both big holidays for us. We love to light the menorah together each night. For Christmas, we love to decorate our tree with sentimental family ornaments and the Star of David on top. Since Sacha lost her father so close to Christmas, her family has lots of holiday traditions to honor him, the most important being a fondue night, where we reminisce about good times and enjoy a great meal that Peter loves to prepare.
We also both have lifelong friendships we cherish tremendously.

Our Home
We recently purchased our first home, in a small, quiet neighborhood. We live six minutes from where one of us grew up and had such a wonderful childhood, so raising a child here would make it that much more special to us. We have a perfect-sized backyard that's fenced in, with a plot for a vegetable garden. Our new neighbors have made us feel very welcome, and there is a real sense of community here. We are a ten-minute drive to downtown and ten minutes to the beach. Our mini Labradoodle, Marlow, brings us joy daily. She is the sweetest, most loving companion anyone could ever ask for. She is a trained therapy dog and loves meeting new people. In December of 2023 we decided Marlow needed a sibling. We adopted Maisey from a local rescue, and the girls are quickly bonding and learning to love each other.
Our Journey to Adoption
We wanted to build our family shortly after getting married but weren’t successful naturally. We tried many different fertility treatments, but nothing seemed to stick. Not only did this cause physical pain but emotional as well because we had always hoped and dreamed that one day we would become parents. After moving to Georgia, we began meeting people who had adopted their children or were adopted themselves. The idea of adoption was then a constant topic in our house. It was like the universe was sending us a message. We now realize our journey isn’t over but only just beginning with the opportunity adoption gives us. We are so excited to begin this new part of our lives.
