Dear Birthmom
Dear Birthmom
Dear Expectant Parent,
We first want to acknowledge that the decision you are making is one made out of selflessness and love. We understand this process will not be easy, but we are here to help support you in whatever way you feel is best.
We hope you know it is our mission for this child to know about you so they can form a healthy and honest connection to their roots. It is of utmost importance to us that they are aware of their story. Our son was born via surrogacy, and we have told him about how he came to be in our family because we believe that is what is best for his emotional development. If you prefer an open adoption, we are willing to send photos and updates so you can see for yourself that they are happy and loved. Please know we have immense respect for you and see you as an important person in this child’s life. We hope to build a bond with you so there is trust and openness throughout the coming years. If you prefer an adoption that is less involved, we also support you in that as well.
Our family is excited to begin this process, and we hope we can put your fears to rest. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile and letter. We appreciate it!

Our Story
We met in 2012 through mutual friends and hit it off right away. We shared a love of music, humor, and Mexican food. Over the next ten years, we moved to NYC and California, we adopted four pets, our son was born, and we moved back home to Ohio permanently. Jenna has spent 19 years as an early childhood educator, and Scott has been a representative for the same company for ten years. As a family, we love to travel, but on a day-to-day basis, we enjoy going to our city’s museums, parks, and pools. Scott enjoys running marathons and ultramarathons, and Jenna prefers to get crafty with art projects and interior design jobs for rental companies. Jenna describes Scott as funny, dependable, intelligent, and easy to love. Scott describes Jenna as effervescent, nurturing, empathetic, and endearing.
Our Extended Family
After years of moving around the country, it was the love of our families and our desire to raise our son and any future children near them that brought us back home to Ohio. With both our parents nearby, it’s been an ideal situation to raise a child in. With Scott’s younger brother being nearby, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and incredibly supportive friends, we are lucky to be a part of such a solid network of people.
We have very close friends who are like family, and they are a part of our holidays and celebrations. Our friends have young children our son enjoys spending time with. One of our favorite times to do this is for our son’s birthday. Every year we put on an elaborate party where the people we love all come together!

Our Home
We live in a suburb in Ohio with friendly neighbors. Our neighborhood is quiet and has easy accessibility to a large park. We fell in love with this neighborhood because the elementary school, skate park, and library are very close by. We knew this would be a great place to raise our son and any future children. We have lived in this house for 3.5 years and have renovated a lot of it to reflect our personalities. In the backyard, there is a swingset, trampoline, firepit, grill, and beautiful cherry trees. The backyard is also great for our two dogs, Ozzie and Yadi. They are eight and nine years old and very friendly. Our two cats prefer to stay indoors and love to cuddle!
Our Journey to Adoption
When Jenna realized she had signs of the same pregnancy condition her mother had, she and her doctor decided that it would not be the safest choice for Jenna to become pregnant. This was something Jenna was aware of when she met Scott. Scott was immediately supportive about Jenna’s decision, and we decided surrogacy was the route to go in becoming parents. Jenna’s cousin asked to be our surrogate, and in 2017 Theo was born! We want to grow our family knowing we are able to welcome a child into our family with love, patience, and compassion. We are excited about Theo becoming a big brother and the bond he and a sibling will have!
