Dear Birthmom

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to look through our profile and considering us as potential adoptive parents. We cannot fathom what you’re going through as you make what is ultimately one of the biggest decisions of your life, but please know you are an incredibly brave and amazing person for going down this path. It’s because of strong, courageous mothers like you that so many people who cannot have children on their own are offered an opportunity to welcome children into their families.

We are beyond ready to share the overflowing love that has been poured into us through our parents and grandparents with a child of our own. We promise you that if you choose us for the tremendous honor and responsibility of becoming parents, we will offer your child a life full of love, support, and every opportunity possible. We can’t wait to share our passions for physical fitness, exploring the world, learning new languages, and experiencing different cultures with our children, but we also look forward to learning about their interests and helping them to cultivate their self-confidence and passions in life.

We are here for any questions you have for us, whether it’s about us, our family, our backgrounds, or even our plans as parents. Thank you again for taking an interest in us. We are excited to connect and share this journey with you.

Our Story

We’ve been together since 2011, were married in 2019, and are excited to take the next step by becoming parents through adoption. We’re both very physically active and involved in our local community. Chris is a partner in a small consulting firm, and although he works mostly from home now, in his previous job, he had the amazing opportunity to travel all over the world, which ignited his love for international travel. Matt is a physical education teacher at the local elementary school and the head baseball coach at the high school. For the last few years, we have led a local holiday toy drive that has grown to collect several thousand items each year. When not at work, we both love to work out at the gym, travel, play tennis and pickleball, watch college football in the fall, attend church services, and hang out with our two dogs.

 Our Extended Family

We are both very close to our families, including our siblings, all four of our parents, and our remaining grandparents. Matt has one brother, who has two boys and a girl. Matt’s family all lives in the Nashville area, so we make it up there several times per year, especially over the holidays to see the amazing outdoor lights display that his 90-year-old grandfather still constructs by himself.

Chris’s parents live nearby and his two sisters, brother, brother-in-law, and three nephews all live in-state. On weekends, we love to attend the boys’ soccer games and hang out with the family at Chris’s sister’s beach house. The rest of Chris’s large family (12 aunts, 12 uncles, and more than 40 cousins) is scattered across the country but still gathers for holidays and reunions, and his grandmother comes to visit often. Family is extremely important to us, and we can’t wait to add our own children to the bunch.

 Our Home

We are blessed to live on a beautiful barrier island where millions of people choose to vacation each year. It provides us with endless nature preserves and broad beaches to explore with our two dogs, Knox and Huck. Four years ago, we bought our forever home partly because it has a great pool for our dogs but also because it offers great space inside and out for gathering with family and friends and is walking distance to the beach. We are surrounded by a close-knit group of neighbors and friends and amazing natural scenery and wildlife. The public school complex where Matt works and coaches is only five minutes away.

 Our Journey to Adoption

One of the biggest things that drew us together 11 years ago was that we both 100% wanted children someday. We wanted to be married first, be financially stable, and have a great home in which to raise our kids. Matt’s brother and four cousins were adopted under similar circumstances, and they are just as much family as our blood relatives. Along with the support of our large families and friends, there’s no doubt that pouring our hearts into any child we’re fortunate enough to call our own will provide them with a life full of fun, adventure, opportunity, and unconditional love.
