Dear Birthmom

We want to start by thanking you for taking the time to consider us as prospective parents for your child. We cannot fathom the plethora of emotions and challenges you must be facing in taking this step. We’re truly amazed at the selflessness and love for your child that you’ve exhibited by considering this step.

You have our promise that if chosen, your child will live a life surrounded by love, support, and the ability to pursue whatever dreams they may have. They will grow up with parents, grandparents, and extended family who are always nearby and prioritize family above all else. Your child will be raised sharing the values of love, respect, and education that our entire family shares.

We also want to address the fact that our son, Milo, was born recently. Our promise hasn’t changed to love your child. In fact, we can now sweeten the deal by saying your child will have a brother to grow up with, to experience life with, and, let’s be honest, probably cause some mischief with!

We are a family out to experience all the world has to give, and we can’t wait to share this with the newest member of our family. Even locally, we’re always exploring new towns, new events, new trails, and new foods. Health and fitness is also a big value of our family, and we can’t wait to hike through the woods or bike around the town side by side with the little one. No matter what sport or activity they want to try, we want to be there with them, not just as spectators but as partners and supporters full of love.

Our Story

We met about five years ago through a dating app and mutual friends. Even though we got married during the pandemic, we made sure to make it memorable by paragliding into our wedding at our favorite hiking spots and were greeted by our family and close friends. We are both adventurous and love the great outdoors. Aside from that, traveling and food are our biggest passions. One of our goals is to hit up all the national parks in America while eating our way through the various cuisines each state has to offer. Nate is a cyber security professional at a large tech company, and Huong is a cancer research pharmacist at one of the largest cancer centers in the state. If we aren’t outdoors, we are either hanging out with our family eating BBQ or meeting up with our friends to play some board games.

 Our Extended Family

Huong grew up with her older brother and younger sister. Nate, on the other hand, has a much larger extended family. While he only has one younger sister, much of his childhood was spent in the company of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

We rarely go a week without seeing a family member’s face! We are extremely blessed to have so much of our family nearby. Both our parents and siblings live within a thirty-minute drive. As a bonus, Nate also has several cousins, uncles, and aunts within a few hours’ drive. Birthdays and holidays are always an excuse for the whole family to get together to eat, laugh, and share stories. This closeness also provides us with a large network of support, whether as small as needing to borrow a coffee grinder to the whole family showing up in force to cheer on someone’s sporting event.

Our family traditions are very diverse. We have our regular holiday potlucks, but we also have our family activities that range from a round of golf to running through a muddy obstacle course. What’s important is that we’re there together and supporting each other.

 Our Home

We moved into our new home immediately after we got married three years ago with the intention of starting our family. Our two-story, three-bedroom house is located in a small residential area. Our neighbors are friendly, and we talk to them all the time during our evening walks. Our house is also located near a small park, and it’s walking distance from grocery stores, bus stations, and walking and biking trails. Down the street from us is the newly built plaza with fun activities on a regular basis (runs, arts and crafts for kids, etc).

 Our Journey to Adoption

Update: Our son Milo was born! However, this hasn’t changed our desire to pursue adoption. Our dream is to have two kids someday, and having them close in age would be ideal. We know it will be a lot of work, but we love the idea of Milo having someone to grow up with, regardless of the blood that runs through their veins. It’s our belief that a family is defined by the love and memories they share. It didn’t dawn on us that this vision of a family was what we wanted until we realized how much we love our nieces as our own while watching them grow. It motivated us to have kids of our own to love, despite fertility challenges. We are excited to start this new chapter in our lives filled with memories of caring for and loving another child and watching them grow into the person they want to be.
