Dear Birthmom

Dear Expectant Mother,

We want to start by saying you’re a hero. We don’t know you or your story, but what we do know is considering an adoption plan is one of the most beautiful and courageous things anyone can ever do, and for that, we give you our hearts and our complete admiration. Your story is just as important to us as the child that’s growing inside you, and we want you to know we admire your strength and courage. You will never be judged, and we would be forever grateful.

If you choose us, our plan is to raise your child in an open and honest environment filled with love, support, and all kinds of experiences. We’re prepared to do whatever it takes to provide them with a safe, healthy, and happy home and will spare no expense when it comes to their schooling or learning new things. Your child will be the center of our world, a world that is full of unconditional love and lots of laughter. We hope to bring knowledge, opportunity, a good sense of morals, and encouragement toward any of their interests. We will be accepting and nurturing as they blossom into the person they’re meant to become and reach their fullest potential.

We want to thank you for taking the time to read our profile. If you think we’re a good fit for you and your child, then we look forward to meeting you and starting a beautiful partnership.

Forever grateful,
Amanda & Doug

Our Story

We’re Doug and Amanda! We’ve known each other since we were in kindergarten but grew up in two different groups in school. Our worlds always seemed to collide until we finally ended up together. Our relationship is full of love and laughter. Doug is pretty witty, so we’re always laughing (usually at him). He works for a utility company and loves to play video games and bass guitar. Amanda is an artist and runs a dormitory for high school girls from several different countries. She enjoys doing anything creative, cooking, hiking, and gardening. We’re total opposites but work extremely well together. Amanda is the creative, dream-driven type with a vision, and Doug is the funny, analytical one who makes it all happen. We both love to travel, learn about lots of cool stuff, and go on adventures. We especially love Disney, and we vacation there often!

 Our Extended Family

Amanda: I grew up in the coolest neighborhood and lived with my mother, father, and younger sister. My parents are so much fun and raised us in a loving home with a life that was full of all kinds of experiences. We’re extremely big on family time and try to celebrate every occasion together. Our biggest holiday is July Fourth, which we spend in northern Michigan with lots of swimming, biking, rock picking, fireworks, games, and fun. My sister is married, and they have two sons (22 and14). We’re all very close and live only minutes from each other.

Doug: I grew up with my mom, dad, older sister, and younger brother. My brother has special needs and still lives locally with my parents. My sister is married, and they have a daughter. They live locally as well, but my niece is currently attending college in Florida. I also have a close relationship with my two cousins, whom I talk to regularly. My parents and siblings spend every holiday and birthday together. They've always been loving and supportive even when poor decisions were made. We all remain not only a close family but awesome friends as well.

 Our Home

We just purchased our forever home in Michigan, situated on over five acres of land not far from town. It has a mixture of woods and open grass with a lot of wildlife. We have a very large garden where we grow most of our food in the summer, and we have some of the most beautiful sunsets. We take daily walks with our dog, Riley, around the property and down various trails in the woods. Riley is a black Lab. She’s a licensed therapy and emotional support dog that goes to work with Amanda every day and makes many kids very happy. Riley is extremely chill and tolerant of everything. She just knows who needs her help and is very intuitive. We also have three cats (Manny, Sid, and Tinker).

 Our Journey to Adoption

We found each other and started dating later in life. We tried to have children naturally, but we’ve been unsuccessful. We’ve had three miscarriages and have had a hard time imagining our lives without raising a child. It’s been like a void that needs to be filled. Our hearts have so much love to give, our home has so much space, and we long to raise a child with the same love, laughter, and light we were raised with. God led us to adoption, and we’re so excited to open our lives to this miracle.
