Dear Birthmom

To A Loving Mother,

Our emotions are running high as we write this letter to you. We have excitement to receive the ultimate gift of family, but also deep compassion, for the brave decision you are making. There are no words meaningful enough to express our gratitude to you.

Our family will provide a fulfilling life for your child. When we talk about the amount of love and support they will receive, it is not only from us but from grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. We are a family that is present, available, and supportive. It doesn’t matter if activities involve music recitals, plays, or athletics—we are here for it. We will build the loving connection so we are the first call they make to celebrate or when they need help. They will have a lifelong teammate in our son, who is so excited to become a big brother. Our family will provide amazing life experiences while also having quiet or even silly family nights at home. Days will end with reading, hugs, kisses, and FaceTime with grandparents.

This child will always know how deeply loved they are because of your decision. They will always be reminded of who they are, where they came from, and all the love you have for them. We wish you the best in your journey through the adoption process and choose what is best for you and your child.

Our Story

We are a loving and compassionate couple who live for our family. We made the decision for Meghan to leave her corporate career to be at home full-time with our son. Being a part of his everyday life is extremely important to us. We are very blessed to make that dream come true due to Ken’s successful career in finance. We enjoy family-friendly outdoor activities like boating, camping, traveling, riding, and going to parks (big and small). We enjoy seeing our child happy and thriving in all of his endeavors. Smaller weekly activities for our family include a kids gym (parent/child class), swim lessons, library (movie & music story time), outdoor play, at home reading, and play dates with our parent group friends. We enjoy taking trips to see our families or having them stay with us in our home.

 Our Extended Family

What a village we have! Our large extended family is one for the books. Meghan comes from a blended and loving family made up of three half sisters, an adopted sister, and three step-brothers…and all of their spouses. Meghan is the youngest of the family and was two years old when her blended family was formed, so she doesn’t use the technical terms of half, adopted, and step when talking about her siblings. Her cousins range in age from 20 to late 50s and are spread over the U.S. and Canada. In addition, she has aunts and uncles in Arizona, Michigan, and Canada. Even with the distance, she is especially close with her aunt in Canada. Meghan’s parents are retired and a quick drive away. We celebrate Polish traditions with Meghan’s mom’s family during the holidays.

Ken’s immediate family is small with one brother and his spouse, but he has an extended family of many cousins. Much of Ken’s family are located in Arizona but also California and Colorado. Ken’s parents live even closer than Meghan’s and have the best Easter egg hunts every year. They enjoy regular visits with tons of quality time playing with their grandchild.

 Our Home

We were both born and raised in Arizona. We live in a rural neighborhood with a variety of livestock. We have three gentle-natured dogs, a tortoise, and 11 chickens that provide fresh eggs daily. We plan to have horses again in the near future as Meghan had them most of her life and Ken has always enjoyed them. Even in our rural area, we live conveniently close to the city and all the amenities. Our area offers wonderful options to public, charter, private, and community home schooling—whatever is the best fit for an individual child. Arizona is a great place to enjoy outdoor activities, including hiking, off-roading, equestrian, skiing, snowboarding, boating, and swimming.

 Our Journey to Adoption

We regularly discuss how fortunate we are to have our son and how much we love him. Over time, through additional conversations and reflection, we determined our family was incomplete. We have more love to give to another child to whom we can provide our time, dedication, love, and attention. We could have opted to have another biological child (at much risk to Meghan) but have always loved the idea of growing our family through adoption. We feel adoption is remarkable. It holds a special place in our hearts, and we are so excited to start this beautiful journey!
