Dear Birthmom

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for taking the time to read through our profile. We know the decision you are making is not an easy one, but we also want you to know how brave you are for making it. We hope after reading about us, you can feel a sense of trust in us. We would be so blessed and so honored to care for your baby and provide a wonderful life for him or her.

We know Adrian would be a great big brother—caring, sweet, but also very goofy, so your baby will definitely be in for some good giggles and laughs. We have kept many of Adrian’s baby toys and baby gear, so we are ready to welcome a new child into our home. We cannot wait to introduce Adrian to his new sibling and for the two of them to grow up together and be there for one another.

Know that your baby will be so loved, cherished and cared for, and surrounded by extended family that are just as excited to meet him or her as we are. And also know that we will do all we can to provide the best life possible for your baby: education, opportunities, love, and laughter. We hope you can feel peace in knowing how grateful we would be for this gift that you would be giving us. You would be helping us complete our family.

Sincerely,
Annie, Ria & Adrian

Our Story

We are Annie and Ria. We met when we were in high school at a church both of our families went to, and we also volunteered at the same retirement home together. We got married in August of 2015, and we have a four-year-old son, Adrian. We also just recently adopted a terrier mix puppy, Ryver, who is bringing lots of laughs (and a little bit of trouble) to the family. Together, we love trying new things, going on adventures, cooking, finding new restaurants, being outdoors, and just enjoying quality time together. Annie works for a nearby community hospital in their IT department, and Ria works for a large hospital system as an ultrasound sonographer. When we’re at home, we are in the backyard playing, gardening, or grilling up yummy food, and if we’re indoors, we are building marble runs, designing magnetic block towers and forts, or reading books. We can’t wait to expand our family and to go on even more adventures together and build even bigger blanket forts.

 Our Extended Family

Annie’s parents are only a ten-minute drive away and help with Adrian three days a week. We love having them so close, and they have a wonderful relationship with Adrian. Annie has one older brother, and he and his wife have two boys just a little older than Adrian. When the three of them are together, they are like three peas in a pod. Annie has a huge extended family on both her mom and dad’s sides. We often take annual trips together with the family on her mom’s side, whether it’s renting a big beach house or a summer camping trip.

Ria has three sisters and one brother, so her immediate family is very large. Adrian has eight cousins from Ria’s side, and we often get together with them for birthday celebrations and holidays. Because we have so much family on both sides, there’s always some sort of get-together or celebration at least once or twice a month. We love watching Adrian play with his cousins and form special bonds with them. We hope to be blessed with another child who will be able to form those special relationships with our family members as well.

 Our Home

Our four-bedroom, three-bathroom home is in a quiet neighborhood with great schools and excellent activities all year round. On the first floor, we have a designated playroom where Adrian keeps all of his toys and does most of his imagining. We have an open kitchen where we cook and bake together and a basement where we like to exercise together. We have a large, fenced backyard with a playset, vegetable garden, and patio. Adrian loves running around the yard and kicking his soccer ball. We are three blocks away from a large park connected to two bike trails, so we go on walks and bike rides often. We love being so close to two playgrounds, a sledding hill, soccer fields, and two community pools. We also just recently adopted a terrier mix puppy, Ryver, who is bringing lots of laughs (and a little bit of trouble) to the family.

 Our Journey to Adoption

We both have siblings, and it’s truly a blessing to have a sibling to lean on and grow up with. A few years after Adrian was born using IVF, we tried to have another child using the same IVF treatments but sadly did not get pregnant after several attempts. After confiding in one another and in our faith, we realized maybe we weren’t meant to get pregnant again because we were meant to adopt. Something clicked, and we knew we needed to find a way to start the adoption process. We have a few friends and coworkers who have adopted or were adopted themselves, and that gave us more encouragement to pursue this journey.
