Dear Birthmom

We can’t imagine the courage it must take to be where you are. You are going through so many changes, building a relationship with a new soul being created within you, and searching for the best situation for this child to be raised in. You are considering entrusting your precious miracle to someone else, which has to be unthinkably difficult. We thank you for taking the time to read our profile and consider us.

As you work through this difficult process, know that you would be blessing another family in ways you cannot imagine. The opportunity to raise a child together would be the fulfillment of a dream for us. We recognize the deep honor and responsibility involved in loving any child but especially one entrusted to us by a loving mother. We stand ready to provide for, love, and care for a new addition to our family. Our family and friends are excited and ready to welcome a new child to the family.

We promise to always be honest with you, and we will answer any questions you have for us to the best of our ability. You deserve that and so much more. Thank you for the thought, consideration, energy, and love you are putting into this life you are bringing into the world. Regardless of your ultimate choice, know that you are a hero for showing such consideration for the best interest of your child.

Our Story

We have been married for over a year and a half now. We are excited about bringing together a family made up of Katie, Christopher, his two beautiful daughters, and our two dogs. As we settle into family life, we find we have so much love between us
and even more to give. Katie works as a licensed professional counselor with kids, teens, and adults. Christopher works in corporate risk for a large tech company. We complement each other’s personalities, working to be organized and structured when necessary and laidback and easygoing when we can. We both enjoy the outdoors, hiking, traveling to new and interesting places, and reading. Christopher likes camping, woodworking, and learning about history. Katie likes to bake, go
horseback riding, and practice agility with her dog.

 Our Extended Family

Christopher’s parents and one sister live nearby. His sister is married with two children. Christopher also has a brother, who lives out of state and is married with two children. His family gets together for holidays and celebrations as often as they can. They also like to get all the cousins together for a week or so during the summer for Cousin Camp. They plan activities for all the kids to do, encouraging bonding and lifelong relationships.

Katie’s mom also lives nearby. She has one brother who is married with four children. Katie’s family gathers every month or so to celebrate birthdays and holidays or just to hang out and enjoy some time together. With a large span of ages, we work to have fun with each kid doing things they enjoy. Even with one in college now, though, some activities will never be outgrown, such as baking and decorating holiday cookies.

We both have some close friends who are considered part of our family. Informally “adopting” friends as family is something we both grew up with, and it has brought so much love and depth of joy to our lives. We cannot imagine our families without these unique and beautiful souls.

 Our Home

We live in a small town of kind, friendly people, located within driving distance of the state capital. The town is growing right now because of its great location and the excellent schools. Our house is a four-bedroom home with a fenced backyard. There are lots of kids in the neighborhood who are out playing and riding bikes most afternoons. We have a seven-year-old border collie and two-year-old sheltie/Aussie who take us for walks through the neighborhood every day and love to play fetch in the yard. They are both sweet, loving dogs who love to play with kids and can’t wait for the family to expand.

 Our Journey to Adoption

Kids and family are an integral and important part of both of our lives. Christopher has two amazing daughters already, and Katie has been deeply involved in the lives of her four nephews. Adding to our family is something that we have been discussing throughout our relationship. Due to challenges with infertility and a genetic condition, a biological child has not been an option. Both of us have considered adoption prior to knowing each other, and it seems like the natural next step in our journey. Christopher grew up with an adopted sister, which helps him to better understand what is involved in this process.
