Dear Birthmom

Thank you for taking the time to read our profile and learn more about us. We know you have a difficult decision to make, and we hope learning more about us will give you peace of mind as you consider adoption for your child. Battling infertility for seven years has taught us to lean into one another when life gets hard. We are very thankful for each other and take pride in sharing our commitment to each other with our future children.
Adopting a child would be an amazing blessing. We pray every day for a baby, and we are praying for you. If you feel like we would be the perfect parents you’re looking for, we would be honored to meet you and be a part of your life. We promise to love your child, build up their self-esteem, and support them in their interests. When we committed to adoption, we thought not just about a baby but the long-term future. We promise to always honor you, both in the way we talk about you with your child and with others. We want to follow your lead on how open you want the adoption to be. If you desire, we'd love to stay connected by sharing updates and pictures through emailing, talking or texting on the phone, or seeing each other in person. Our gratitude for you will always be present in our home.

Our Story

We first met in preschool 28 years ago. We started dating in high school and have been together ever since. We got married ten years ago and have been blessed with a loving marriage. We have a faith-centered relationship that keeps us grounded. Alex is an engineer who works with lakes and rivers. Alex’s job is technically challenging but is very flexible and ideal for raising a family. As a little girl, Lindsey played with her toy cash register and dreamed of being the boss. She now manages a large grocery store. Lindsey’s favorite part of her job is the people she works with and all the customers. We have a close relationship and love spending time together. After work, you can usually find us riding bikes together. We also enjoy going out to eat, golfing, boating, and going to sporting events with friends on the weekends.

 Our Extended Family

We both grew up in loving homes in rural Iowa. Lindsey has one older sister, and Alex has one younger sister and two younger brothers. We have seven wonderful nieces and nephews, three on Lindsey’s side and four on Alex’s. Our families are important to us, and we are close to our siblings, parents, grandparents, and extended family. We often go home to see our family, and they also travel to spend time at our home.

Alex’s parents are farmers, which provides endless entertainment for his nieces and nephews. Lindsey’s parents have a big yard and vegetable garden, which the nieces and nephews love to explore. Holidays are really special because we all travel to our hometown to see all of our family at once. We spend every summer at Alex’s family’s lake house. We love swimming, waterskiing, tubing, boating, and jet skiing with family. Everyone is excited about our adoption plan and is ready to welcome your child into our family.

 Our Home

We live in a family-oriented city in Iowa. We have parks, nature trails, and pools close by. Our city has top-rated schools and also has somewhat of a small-town feel. We live on a quiet street perfect for riding bikes and playing outside. Our neighborhood has a good mix of retired couples and young families. We have only lived in our house for a short time, but we already know our neighbors. Our house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the main floor. We also have a living space in our basement, which will be the perfect playroom. We spend a lot of time on our deck in the backyard. We are excited to put in a playset and sandbox!

 Our Journey to Adoption

Growing up, Lindsey was introduced to adoption when her family’s close friends adopted two children. The beauty Lindsey saw in their family relationships instilled a deep appreciation of adoption. During our seven-year battle with infertility, Lindsey’s sister and her family adopted a baby. Watching Lindsey’s sister go through the adoption process showed us adoption is the path for us. Our niece is very important to us, and it will be special to continue to grow our extended family through adoption. We know we have a lot of love to share and can’t wait for a special child to make us a family.
