Dear Birthmom
Dear Birthmom
We can’t begin to fully understand the thoughts and emotions that may be going through your mind right now. The courage, strength, and bravery it takes to even consider this path for your child is something we deeply respect. While we may never truly know what this decision feels like for you, we want you to know that we see the love behind it. Even the possibility that you would consider us to parent your child is something we hold with the utmost respect.
If you choose to allow us to parent your child, please know that he/she will always be loved, supported, and cherished. We will encourage them to explore all their interests and explore the world with wonder. We will make sure they grow up knowing who you are, where they come from, and how much love and courage surrounded the decision you made. Your story and your role in their life will always be honored and spoken about with respect. Whatever your decision we thank you for taking the time to learn about us and for considering us as parents for your child. We are truly grateful.

Our Story
Like most people these days, we met online. We talked online for a few weeks and finally met in person at Starbucks.
We had the same family values and goals for life. The next day we both deleted our dating profiles. We spent the majority of our dating life at the beach everyday after work to catch the sunset and talk further about our future together. We got engaged 2 months later and married a month after that (“when you know you know” is real). Our families thought we were wild, but thankfully they trusted our judgment. We each instantly fit right in with each other's families. We have spent the years since enjoying traveling together and simple silly nights at home on the couch.

Our Extended Family
Julie’s family is all located in California. Julie’s mom died when she was young and since then we have gotten very close with Julie’s aunt, uncle and cousins. Even though we are states apart we talk regularly and they are excited about the possibility of adding another child to the family, especially Julie’s 10 year old cousin.
Kevin has family all over the world. Thanks to the internet, we are able to keep in contact with everyone. Kevin’s aunt and uncle and cousins live in Orange County, CA and we love visiting them when we are in town (being close to the beach makes it even better).
We moved to Colorado and quickly built up a community of friends that we treasure. Our friends we have made here are very supportive and we have regular game nights where we play Mexican Train together. Julie’s best friend Roopa and her family are basically our family and they are excited for Auntie Julie and Uncle Kevin to give them little cousins to play with.

Our Home
We currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment in a great neighborhood. While our home may not be large, it is filled with love and has been a great place to begin growing our family. We love taking walks through the neighborhood and everyone has dogs so we enjoy loving the dogs we pass. We are close to downtown Colorado Springs where there are a lot of community events. Hiking is one thing we love to do when the weather is nice since we are close to Pikes Peak and the mountains. We have awesome trails with the most spectacular views.
Our Journey to Adoption
Everyday feels like an adventure when you are with your best friend. Before moving to Colorado, we lived in Northern California about 10 min from Julie’s family. We enjoyed lots of visits with them and played a lot of games together; our favorites being Five Crowns, Yahtzee, and Scattergories. We also love traveling together. We have enjoyed trips to New York and Los Angeles to see the Chargers play football. We are looking forward to visiting Washington DC together soon.
We also enjoy spending holidays with our friends in Colorado. Our favorite holiday to celebrate is 4th of July. Celebrating with BBQ's, swimming, and fireworks is always a good time. We also spend Christmas Eve church services with old family friends who just happened to live close by as well as Easter with family we have in Denver. Reconnecting with all of them has been so special since living in Colorado.
