Dear Birthmom

From the very beginning, we have held you in our hearts with deep respect. We recognize that the decision you face comes from a place of love and courage, and we are profoundly grateful that you are considering us as part of your journey. As we write this letter, we do so with humility and sincere appreciation for your strength and selflessness.

We have always dreamed of growing our family through adoption, and knew it was the path we wanted to take to care for a child and provide a loving, stable home. Your baby will grow up in a home that is safe, nurturing, compassionate, and filled with love and respect. Your love will always be part of their story, and we will honor it every day in the way we raise them. Guided by God and a heart for serving others, we have been led to careers in healthcare and now to this journey. We are a family-oriented couple surrounded by a strong, supportive community of more than 20 relatives and close friends. Together, we celebrate holidays, share traditions, and create meaningful memories. During Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Lunar New Year, your baby will experience the warmth and togetherness that shaped our own childhoods.

We will teach your baby to love unconditionally, care for others, and treat everyone with kindness and respect. They will grow up witnessing compassion, forgiveness, optimism, and adventure in our daily lives. Thank you for considering us. We look forward to the opportunity to learn more about you and, hopefully, to meet you.

Our Story

It was the day after Christmas in Washington when a snowstorm brought a very sick patient to our local medical center. Tim, a respiratory therapist, and Taylor, an anesthesiology resident, were both caring for the same patient. Although they had each worked at the medical center for years, they had never met—until, in OR #7, their eyes finally met over this patient. After several rounds of online “investigation,” they connected and made plans for their first date.

Tim and Taylor were drawn to each other by their big hearts and genuine care for those around them. Their love story grew through adventures, including a trip to Vietnam where Tim proposed to Taylor on a wooden boat in Hoi An. A year later, they married in Virginia, surrounded by family and friends. From the start, they knew their love would continue to grow, and today their lives are filled with travel, family gatherings, cooking, baking, tennis, and Matinee Tuesdays at the movies—a joy they look forward to sharing with their baby.

 Our Extended Family

Family is a huge part of our lives. We are both blessed to have our parents and two older siblings. Each of us is the youngest of three, and our siblings are even the same ages, just like we are. In addition to our immediate families, we come from large extended families with 15–20 aunts and uncles, more than 20 cousins, and their growing families as well. Our family gatherings are big, lively, and full of love, and your baby will always be embraced and cherished at every one of them.

Our families are grounded in strong faith, togetherness, and open hearts, and they cannot wait to welcome your baby as a new member. Family cabin trips, bowling nights, and holiday celebrations are traditions we look forward to all year long. We have family in Texas, Virginia, and Tennessee who visit often, but most of our support system lives in Washington within 30 minutes of one another. Your baby will grow up surrounded by constant love, encouragement, and a strong sense of belonging.

 Our Home

Your baby will grow up in a safe, welcoming neighborhood in Washington, surrounded by trusted neighbors and diverse young families who are supportive and close-knit. We live north of a major city near the water, in a clean, well-kept area with a strong sense of community. We enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, with refreshing rain, abundant sunshine from March through September, and occasional mild snowfall during the holidays. The air quality is fresh, and the nearby city of Seattle is home to landmarks like the Space Needle, beautiful hiking trails, thriving technology companies, and excellent education, including the University of Washington, where Timothy attended graduate school and Taylor completed an anesthesia residency. Our city’s vibrant culture, diverse foods and people, healthcare access, natural beauty, and strong schools make it a wonderful place to grow up.

 Our Journey to Adoption

Tim’s parents and grandparents are refugees from Vietnam, so he was raised embracing his Vietnamese roots. Cooking and showing each other love through preparing dishes is a big part of his family. Lunar New Year every January/February is a big holiday for his family, which includes dressing up in traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai, giving lucky red envelopes full of cash to the children, and celebrating what you’re grateful for. Tim is also fluent in Vietnamese and plans to pass down this language to your baby.

Taylor was raised in Maryland with Mid-Atlantic and Southern heritage. Cooking is also deeply important to Taylor’s family. Taylor’s extended and immediate family all gather together in Roanoke, Virginia each year for a large Thanksgiving celebration that has been going on for over 30 years.
