Dear Birthmom

Our life has not gone the way we expected it would, and we are hoping that is something we can connect with you on. When we got married in 2020 we assumed we would get pregnant and grow our family the conventional way. Nothing about our journey to become parents has been conventional. We have struggled for a long time with infertility and have undergone years of treatments and procedures. We want nothing more than to be parents and that leads us to you! This is not a traditional situation for lack of better words and we are having a difficult time finding the words to express how we are feeling. But we are so grateful that you are considering us. There is no way we will ever understand the emotions and feelings you are experiencing. The gift of life is a mystery, and how our paths cross on this journey is a moment to hold dearly. The hopes, dreams, and joys of life may never fully be realized but being open to this journey is a gift beyond words, and I hope you know how valuable that is. I hope you will choose us as a loving and caring family who wants the world for your child. Wishing you all the best in this moment and the choice this entails.

Our Story

Isaac and Ashley met in March 2019, it’s actually a funny story. Ashley was returning from a travel nursing assignment and Isaac was completing his family medicine residency. Isaac just happened to be doing a rotation where Ashley’s dad worked, and one day her dad suggested that he meet his daughter. Isaac added her on Facebook and eventually the meeting happened. They were engaged 6 months later and married in April of 2020! Isaac and Ashley always joke that Isaac came father approved!

 Our Extended Family

We are both close to our families and have a great support network. We have family within 30 minutes from our home, including a 4 year old niece and a newborn nephew who we are very close to. Ashley’s family lives in Ohio, but comes to visit every 3-4 months and Ashley gets to visit home often. Isaac’s family mostly lives close by but he also has a sister and her family in Southern California, and a brother who has a son in Florida who we remain close to. Our family loves to do holidays and birthdays together. We love to gather for weekly family dinners and go to many events and activities together. We would describe Ashley's family as loving, loud, outgoing and always ready to have a family party or cook a large meal together. Isaac’s family is very thoughtful, loving, musical, and also loves to have a family dinner or get together. We also have a few friends in the neighborhood who have children and we hangout weekly. Our family and friends are ready and excited to bring a new child into the bunch!

 Our Home

We live in a small town in Northern California, close to major cities and also very close to nature. We can see the mountains from our windows! Ashley loves the small-town feel of our town because it reminds her of Stars Hollow from Gilmore girls! We enjoy spending time in our cozy, yet modern home and in our backyard, where we have a pool and garden, plus lots of grass to play in. Our community has several parks and great schools - all within walking distance from our home. We chose our neighborhood because it is very family-friendly, and welcoming. We have many wonderful neighbors with children, and family within 30 minutes. Our adorable town always has fun family events for the holidays and over the summer, our downtown has live music and activities on the weekends. We have three wonderful dogs, two of whom are rescues - Remi (11), Luna (10) & Dune (1.5) who love to play with our nieces and nephews.

 Our Journey to Adoption

Ashley is an outgoing, bold, loving and giving person. While Isaac is a thoughtful, caring and sensitive person. Together we think we blend perfectly! Balancing out each other and being what the other needs. We have built a dream life together, we love to go to dinners and enjoy our adorable town. We love to host family pool parties and cook out in our back yard, we even love cozy weekends just the two of us and our three sweet dogs just cuddled up watching movies or playing board games. Some of our favorite adventures together have also been traveling to new places! We have been to Germany, Japan and now Switzerland! We enjoy sailing in the San Francisco Bay with family and friends. We love the outdoors and camp often. We look forward to the day when we can take our child on adventures with us!
