Dear Birthmom

I cannot even begin to imagine what you are going through, but I do know that you are strong and selfless to consider this vast unknown for you and your baby. I am incredibly grateful for you, and I would love the opportunity to be considered by you to become a parent for your baby.

I have a seven year old son, Mitchell, and I lost a baby girl, Jolee, three years ago. I have always wanted to grow my family, along with my son to have a sibling, because I cannot imagine my life without my brother. I was beyond ecstatic when I became pregnant with my daughter, but God had a different plan for her. Mitchell and I talk and cry about Jolee, and, so sweetly, celebrate her birthday every year. Mitchell and I pray for a baby every day, and I know God has a much bigger plan for us than I could have ever imagined.

I am excited, yet anxious, about this process, and I am more than ready to open our home and grow our family. I am open to any level of communication you are comfortable with, and I am happy to open my arms for all the love and support that you may need through this phase of your life.

The most rewarding and fulfilling point in my life has been becoming a mother and raising a son, and I would love to have the opportunity to build on this!

My Story

My day-to-day life always seems rewarding! I am a controller for an engineering firm where family and flexibility are supported, and Mitchell is in 1st grade at a private Christian school where both academic and spiritual growth are nurtured.

My weekday mornings start early, where I let our two Cavaliers, Skye and Rex, outside, enjoy a quiet cup of coffee, indulge in cardio, and get ready after that. Our mornings together begin when I wake Mitchell, where he gets ready, the two of us walk Skye and Rex, play with our two outside kittens, Kit and Strike, and enjoy a ‘travel’ breakfast while on our way to school and work. Our afternoons vary from sports, playdates, or easy afternoons at home but always include homework, dinner, and playing with our pets. Our nights wind down while talking about our day, reading, and praying.

Our weekends truly follow this same routine without early mornings, school, and work. Our weekends include family and friends, biking, hiking, swimming, inline skating, church, sports, playing games, watching movies, and others.

 My Extended Family

My family and friends are my absolute everything, and I am lucky to have a supportive, loving, and close family and wonderful friendships. Our family celebrates birthdays and holidays together, indulges in regular video and phone calls, and finds every opportunity to be together whether it be family ski, beach, or Disney trips, boat or pool days, game or movie nights, or anything else on a much smaller scale. I have my parents, Melinda and John, and my brother and sister in love, Jeffery and Kelley, who are always around and very active with us. I have 4 nieces and nephews that I adore and see quite often, and I have 4 cousins that are like siblings that I see around holidays and special occasions.

I have very close friends from both my hometown and from where I live now that are extended family for us, and who Mitchell considers ‘aunts’, ‘uncles’, and ‘cousins’. Mitchell and I are part of our church, our neighborhood, school, sports, Scouts, and many different groups where our friends are a huge support system for us and are basically considered family.

 My Home

My son and I live in a hidden gem on an acre, in a small city, which includes 2 stories, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a playroom, and a yard to enjoy in all seasons. We are surrounded by sidewalks for biking, skating, or walking to neighbors or shops and restaurants in the village close by. Our neighbors are sweet friends, and there are children ranging from 2 months to 14 years to enjoy. There are playgrounds and greenways, a local pharmacy, grocery store, and ice cream shop, and farmers markets and family festival nights all close by. Our home is approximately 20 miles from a bigger city where I work, where Mitchell goes to school and plays sports, and where the best healthcare is.

 My Journey to Adoption

Disney seems to hold a soft spot in our hearts right now and yearly trips are a must. Disney is wonderful for children of all ages and I enjoy watching my son immerse himself in the magical atmosphere. Listening to ‘Mom, I do not want it to be over!’ from my son after watching a parade at Magic Kingdom will forever be in my heart. Mitchell and I, along with our family and friends, have enjoyed Disney parks and cruises together since his birth in 2018, and another trip is already planned for this year.

Snow skiing in Banff, Canada, visiting and helping our sponsored child in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, watching orcas in the wild in Puget Sound in Seattle, Washington are some of our most memorable vacations so far.
