Dear Birthmom
Dear Birthmom
To a Loving Mother,
First, we want you to know how deeply we honor your strength and the love behind the decision you’re considering. We’ve learned adoption takes courage and selflessness, and while we’ll never fully understand what it’s like to carry a child, we hold deep respect for the emotions and bravery this journey demands of us both.
We’re John and Joey—loving partners who’ve always known that fatherhood through adoption is part of our path. We’re old souls at heart, raised in families that value honesty, faith, independence, and tradition. What first drew us together was our shared love for making the most of life—and we’re ready to convey that same value to a child, through unconditional love, laughter, and a life filled with meaning.
Though we can’t offer motherhood, we believe in the power of choosing the right mom—someone who sees our hearts and trusts our ability to be devoted, nurturing parents. Our own moms are our role models, and their wisdom, sense of self-respect, discipline, (and tough love!) still guides us today.
We recognize that the trust you place in your child’s adoptive parents is not to be earned lightly, and should you place that trust in us, we’ll work to ensure that that trust is well earned and respected for a lifetime. We hope to be a compassionate and respectful presence for you—honoring your wishes and celebrating your role in this child’s life.
With gratitude,
John & Joey

Our Story
We’re always moving—creatively and thoughtfully. Staying busy is how we stay grounded, joyful, and connected to what matters.
John is expressive and loves movies and improv. He’s happiest working with his hands—building, cooking, fixing, or exploring outdoors. Teaching is a passion; he has a gift for helping others find self-courage. John’s hobbies reflect his desire to bring joy to others and to purposefully live life with playfulness, as happiness, in John’s words, is a daily choice.
Joey is curious and compassionate. He loves psychology, music, tennis, gardening, true crime, and art projects. Tending to plants brings him peace, reminding him that growth takes time. Coaching his team at work allows him to share knowledge and uplift others. Joey’s hobbies are rooted in compassion, insight, and the belief that every moment holds the potential for meaning.
Our hobbies reflect who we are: creative, nurturing, curious, and community-oriented. They help us stay balanced, laugh often, and live intentionally. We can’t wait to support a child of our own to discover his or her own interests and passions.

Our Extended Family
One of our greatest blessings is the family and friends who surround us. John has 27 first cousins (!) and is close to many as they all are around the same age and grew up travelling and celebrating holidays together. Joey’s family lives much closer and we have the luck of being able to see his aunts, uncles, and nephews a few times a month.
We both firmly believe that to be raised amongst family and friends is an incomparable and invaluable asset to a child’s well-being.
Beyond family, a wealth of very close friends is all within an hour or two, and all of whom are excited to support us and our child. We always have our guest room ready for friends or family to stay the night.
Holidays are traditional, decorations a must! We travel to John’s cousins for July 4th, (where we put on our own fireworks show!) Thanksgiving is with Joey’s family…and flashlight tag with the kids at night. Christmas is at home, with a real tree (never fake!), Nat King Cole in the background, and “A Christmas Story” on TV. Frankly, the tradition of how we celebrate is almost as important as the holiday itself.

Our Home
We chose our neighborhood for the people and community to support our next chapter.
Our home is a reflection of us: warm, welcoming, and creatively designed. We take pride in making it a space filled with love, laughter, and comfort.
We live close to several parks and biking trails. Neighbors genuinely look out for one another and most have children. It’s common to see kids walking to school, riding bikes, and playing. Our small downtown is close by, and is safe, friendly, and full of life.
We feel lucky to live here. It’s the kind of place that’s hard to find—and we don’t take it for granted. It’s more than a neighborhood; it’s a true community, and we can’t wait to raise a child.

Our Journey to Adoption
We make one another better.
John is magnetic—his joyful spirit, smile, and confident charm light up every room. He’s funny, curious, and loyal, with values that ground our marriage in trust and respect. Even in hard times, he’s determined and growth-oriented. He’s the kind of person who sings karaoke without hesitation to show others it’s ok to be playful.
Joey is deeply caring and emotionally attuned, known for his warmth, humor, and authenticity. He’s an achiever with a sharp mind and love for ideas. Career-driven and ambitious, he’s deeply intentional. He’s open, honest, and grounded—which draws people in and builds trust.
Together, we’ve built a relationship rooted in honesty, laughter, and mutual support. We over-communicate and show up for each other every day.
