Dear Birthmom

First off, we want to thank you for taking the time to read through our profile. We can't imagine how difficult this decision must be for you and how difficult the circumstances are that led you to consider adoption for your baby.

If you choose us to adopt, we will give the newest addition to our family a stable, loving home. We are eager to grow our family and love a sweet little baby. We have a good support system and are both close to our families. We also have a group of friends that are like family to us. We have godchildren and nephews who are thrilled to meet their future cousin. They are excited for playdates at the park and trips to the bowling alley. Your child will grow up learning to swim at an early age and will get to water ski, tube, play in the sand, and make all the memories living on a lake has to offer. We love to travel and plan to take our child on as many trips as we can. We can't wait to share all the experiences and love we had as children and want to give your child even more.

We will never let your child forget the love you have for them and how grateful we are to be chosen as their parents. This selfless act will give us the opportunity to reach our dream of becoming parents and having a baby with whom to share our love.

Our Story

Although we both have demanding jobs, work-life balance is a priority for our family. We have both worked our fair share of midnight shifts, weekends, and holidays in the past, and we're happy to both work day shift now and get to spend our evenings together. We like to unwind and catch up in the evenings by going for walks in the neighborhood or sunset cruises on the boat. When the weather is bad, you can find us on the couch watching HGTV shows or reruns of Friends or The Office. Ethan has run two marathons and is currently training for a third, while Ashlyn prefers to cheer him on from the sideline. In Ashlyn's spare time, she is usually found sitting on our dock reading. We both love to spend time on our boat, floating near the dock, or camping. We purchased our first camper within the last year and have loved checking out new campgrounds.

 Our Extended Family

We have a kitty named KeKe who lives with us and is friendly and good with kids. We each have one older brother who lives in our town, and we see their families often. We are blessed to live across the street from Ethan's parents. Ashlyn's parents are close and only live 40 minutes away. Both sets of grandparents are always ready to go camping with us or travel to a new destination and would love to watch us become parents and raise our newest addition. We each have two nephews ranging from ages three to 13, and have loved getting to be part of their lives and watch them grow. We also have best friends who are like family, and we are godparents to their children, ages two and four. We often have family dinner with Ethan's family several times a week, and we try to grab dinner and hang out with our best friends at least once a week. All of our friends have children, so we are used to having kid-friendly adventures. We're best known as Ashy and EE to the kids.

 Our Home

We live in Southern Illinois on a lakefront property. Fun fact: Ethan's dad actually built our house for Ethan's grandpa in 1990. We bought the house, and since moving in 2020, we have remodeled nearly every room and made some exterior updates as well. We live right across the street from Ethan's parents on a dead-end road that is nestled between two quiet subdivisions. Our private dock and beach are just right out the back door. There's plenty of driveway to ride bikes and enough property to ride the side-by-side around. Ethan's parents' house has an open-door policy, where you can always grab a sweet tea or popsicle after playing on the beach.

 Our Journey to Adoption

We met in May of 2020 during the height of the COVID pandemic. Ethan's sister-in-law worked with Ashlyn and mentioned she knew someone who was single. A couple of Instagram messages later, we found ourselves at Olive Garden for our first date. We had to leave Illinois due to the lockdown restrictions and go nearby to Kentucky for our date. We quickly realized on that date, we never ran out of things to talk about. Despite different work schedules, we started spending all of our free time together and realized we wanted to spend our lives together. Ethan proposed in April 2023, and we were married on the same lake where we live in September 2023.
