Dear Birthmom

We’re Javon and Amanda. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our letter and learn a little about us. We know this may be one of the most difficult decisions you’ll ever make, and we want to begin by acknowledging the strength and love it takes to consider adoption. Please know that we see you, and we are deeply grateful that you would consider us as potential parents for your precious baby.

Our journey to building a family hasn’t been an easy one, but it has been guided by faith, love, and hope. From early on in our relationship, Javon and I knew that we wouldn’t be able to have biological children. I (Amanda) have struggled with Endometriosis for many years, and after undergoing a hysterectomy, it became clear that adoption would be the path for us.
While it was a painful chapter, it opened the door to something beautiful—our first adoption.

The day Kyson was born changed our lives forever. We were overwhelmed with joy and knew that this was the journey God had planned for us. Now, as we watch Kyson grow into a joyful, curious little boy, our hearts are full—and also open to welcoming another child into our home.

We believe so deeply in the beauty of adoption and in the love that connects families in unexpected ways. More than anything, we hope to give Kyson a sibling and to provide another child with a life filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.

Our Story

Javon and I met in 2011. Our friendship grew into something more, and we began dating in 2018. We were married in October of 2020.
Javon has the patience of a saint. No matter how busy life gets he always makes sure that I feel supported and cared for. His love for me, for Kyson, and for his family is so genuine. From the beginning, Javon has made God the center of his life. His spiritual grounding brings peace and strength to our home, and I admire the example he sets as a husband and father.

Javon has often told me that one of the things he loves most is my faith. He’s also said how much he values my motherly intuition. Javon also says he feels truly supported in our partnership. He appreciates how I help provide for our family, and manage our schedules so that life runs as smoothly. He’s told me that my commitment to our family is one of the things he loves most about me.

 Our Extended Family

We both come from close-knit, loving families. Javon is one of five siblings, while Amanda is one of three and together we have 12 nieces and nephews. Our families are a big part of our lives, and we’re so thankful for the love and support they constantly show us—not just as a couple, but especially in our journey through adoption.

Every Sunday, we attend church. It's something we value deeply and hope to continue as a meaningful tradition for our children. Between our families, there’s always a birthday, holiday or gathering to celebrate. Our home is full of love, and our family is full of people who can’t wait to welcome another child.

Beyond our relatives, we’re also blessed with a small circle of friends who are like chosen family to us. One couple in particular—Phil and Tiffany —have been with us through many of life’s seasons. They’ve supported us through marriage and adoption, and they’ve truly become part of our extended family.

We treasure our own family adventures. Some of our favorite outings are simple walks at the local zoo or Wildlife Park, and making as many memories as we can.

 Our Home

We live in Kansas, in a cozy three-bedroom home that’s filled with love, laughter, and the joys of everyday life. Our house has plenty of space for our growing family.

We share our home with our special pets who are very much part of the family. We have two playful dogs, Athena and Tikaani, and a lizard named Draco. They bring a lot of fun and comfort to our lives. Our backyard is fenced-in and perfect for running around. Our neighborhood is quiet and family-friendly, with parks, libraries, and fun local spots like the zoo just a short drive away. We truly believe it’s a wonderful place to raise children—a place where they can feel safe, supported, and surrounded by people who care about them.

 Our Journey to Adoption

Our experience with adoption was nothing short of divine—it was all God. A wonderful lady from our church had mentioned us to the expectant mother.

We began preparing quickly. We got everything in motion and followed all the legal steps required to adopt. In March 2024, just as God had planned, we met Kyson’s biological mother at the hospital. Holding him in our arms for the first time felt like a promise fulfilled.
This journey has been a whirlwind, but it's also been a beautiful display of God’s handiwork. From the moment we met Kyson, we knew that he was meant to be part of our family. We are so incredibly grateful for this little boy and the joy he brings to our lives.
