Dear Birthmom
Dear Birthmom
Sweet Mama, the world has so many unknowns. We hope and pray that you don't feel alone. Please know that there are so many individuals and couples, including us, praying and thinking about you.
Sam and I have been blessed as high school sweethearts. We've always been drawn to children, and have humbly been told that kids naturally gravitate toward us. We feel so lucky to have found a once-in-a-lifetime love early on in life, and we want to grow a family so we can pour our love into them. We talked about having a family someday, early on in our relationship. Honestly, we thought that "someday" would have been sooner than now (after 13 years together), but it all goes back to the "unknowns" of life and trusting in a greater plan from God.
You are strong, loved, and courageous to walk this path of adoption. We pray for you throughout your pregnancy, your various decisions, the emotional highs and lows, and for the years to come.
If you choose us, you're giving us a gift we cannot create on our own. Infertility has been a long journey of relinquishing control of the "unknowns", growing closer to God, and truly hearing our calling: to love and grow a family through adoption. The more we think about this, the more tears fall, because it is such an emotional, heart-aching, hopeful, and beautiful process all in one. We are truly in this together.
We'd love to learn more about you and connect for this blessed journey.

Our Story
We've both been with our employers for over a decade and are grateful for careers that are challenging and fulfilling. Sam works locally at a bank, while Brooke's sales role includes office work, remote work, and customer visits. She especially enjoys mentoring and training her team. With Sam close to home, our dog loves her lunch breaks with daddy.
Evenings begin with a dog walk, followed by quiet nights or hobbies like golf, visiting our nearby parents, fishing, attending our nieces' events, or hosting Bible study. Weekends often include lake house visits, ice cream stops, or local events. Brooke sometimes meets friends at coffee shops on Saturdays—often with their kids—and looks forward to bringing our child one day.
Sundays are for church. Brooke serves on the council, and we often stay after for Sunday School or to visit with our church family. Our nephews love joining us and even help with the service. Sundays end with relaxing and meal prepping.
That's our home life—but we also love to travel and explore, enjoying vacations throughout the year!

Our Extended Family
Family means everything to us! We're fortunate to have our immediate and extended family nearby in the same town we both grew up in. We've lived in our home for 10 years, remodeling it five years ago in preparation for a family. Brooke's mom and stepdad, and Sam's parents, all live within a block of us—perfect for backyard playdates and memory-making with our little one in the years to come. Brooke's dad and his girlfriend live 30 minutes away and often visit, especially for fishing.
Brooke's younger brother lives five minutes away, and our nephews attend the same school our child will. Her stepbrother helped spark our deep love for dogs. Sam's brother's family lives within four hours, while his sister's family is just 30 minutes away. We're godparents to our niece, and love being Uncle Sam and Aunt Brooke to our seven nieces and nephews.
Cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends also live in town. We gather year-round for birthdays, game nights, and cookouts—always filled with laughter (sometimes at each other

Our Home
Midwest hospitality is real—and we're always grateful to return to it after traveling. We love our cozy Midwest home with multiple decks perfect for sunsets, s'mores, and time outdoors. We're homebodies at heart, enjoying fireside reading, puzzles, and relaxing in our movie room. We even purchased the lot next door for future family fun. Our child will attend the same great school district we did, which prepared us well for college and scholarships. We live in a safe, small town where neighbors know each other, and Sam volunteers locally. From our engagement at a nearby state park to days at the pool or library, we're excited for our child to grow up enjoying the same parks, lakes, and community spaces we loved.
Our Journey to Adoption
Adoption has touched our lives already. Brooke’s Grandma – one of the most loving individuals we know – adopted her two sons with her late husband, in her first marriage. She has always inspired us with her care of getting to know individuals and speaking words of love and encouragement into their lives. Sam’s mother was also adopted and has connections with both her biological and adopted fathers. We have witnessed firsthand how families grow and come together through adoption. We are confident that our families will welcome this precious baby with open arms and big hearts, and that this is God’s plan for us.
