Dear Birthmom

To a loving mother:

Our names are Kevin and Adam. We haven't met you, but already we admire your courage, selflessness, and love. We will never truly understand what you are feeling right now, but we do know that adoption is a tough decision to consider. We also believe it is a selfless gift to yourself, your child, and whoever adopts them. Thank you for considering us to be that family.

We've been married for 14 years and are proud dads through adoption to a joyful, curious little girl. Her birth mom chose a semi-open adoption with regular photos and updates, and we're so grateful to have that relationship with her. If you choose us to raise your child, we promise to honor the level of connection that feels right to you.

Our home, wherever we are in the world, is filled with laughter, weekend pancake breakfasts, and bedtime stories with extra imagination. We promise your child a life full of love, security, and opportunity. We'll support them always, celebrate their uniqueness, and honor their roots. We'll raise them to be kind, curious, and confident. We'll make sure they grow up knowing just how much they are loved – by us, by their big sister, by our extended family, and by you.

If you'd ever like to talk or ask us anything, we're here. You are not alone.

With love,
Kevin and Adam

Our Story

Adam says Kevin is the silliest, kindest, and most organized person he knows. Kevin says Adam is the friendliest, most genuine person – so proud to serve our country. We met in college and have been married for 14 wonderful years. Adam is a U.S. diplomat, and Kevin works for a global health organization, which has allowed us to live around the world.

In 2023, we welcomed our daughter through adoption. She is joyful, curious, and adored by our two small dogs. She lights up around other children, which makes us even more excited to welcome a sibling into the family. Her birth mom asked for ongoing updates, and we're proud to have that continuing relationship with her.

We love cooking, photography, and weekend adventures. At our core, we're best friends who laugh often, support each other, and believe that love, stability, and connection are the foundation of a happy family.

 Our Extended Family

We both come from close-knit, loving families. Adam is from Minnesota, where his parents, sister, and nieces live, and his other sister and her family are in Massachusetts. Kevin is from Wisconsin, where his parents, older brother, and twin brother all live. We're very close with our siblings and adore spending time with our four nieces and nephews. When we adopted our daughter, our families – especially the grandparents! – were overjoyed. They can't wait to welcome another child into the family and their hearts.

Holidays are especially meaningful to us. We love returning to Minnesota and Wisconsin to be with the people who know us best. Adam's favorite tradition is cooking a big Thanksgiving meal, while Kevin captures the joy and chaos with his camera. Christmas brings outdoor adventures, dogs hopping in snowbanks, and time with aunts, uncles, and our many cousins. We can't wait for our daughter and her future sibling to grow up with these traditions – playing with cousins, making cookies with grandma, and snuggling in for bedtime stories from grandpa. Our entire family is ready to surround your child with love, laughter, and lifelong memories – even our two little dogs are excited!

 Our Home

We always say that home is wherever we are together. Because of Adam's job with the government, we've lived in Argentina, Switzerland, Mongolia, and South Korea. We love our adventurous life.

We're currently stationed in Asia, with easy access to the United States. Our home here has a big yard where our daughter and puppies play. Our quiet, green neighborhood is full of families and children of all ages. There are playgrounds very close by, and our next-door neighbors all have young kids.

We're excited to share this global life with your child – learning languages, attending excellent schools, trying new foods, and making friends everywhere we go. We return to the U.S. at least once a year and always stay connected with family and friends.

 Our Journey to Adoption

We knew early on that we wanted to be dads together, and while we considered different paths to parenthood, adoption always felt like the right one. Seeing the love and happiness in the families of close friends who adopted only confirmed this. In 2023, our hearts grew as we welcomed our daughter through adoption. She has brought more joy, laughter, and love into our lives than we ever imagined. Becoming parents this way has been the most beautiful experience, and it gives us so much hope and excitement as we look forward to growing our family again through adoption. So full of love, our family is ready to welcome another child with open arms.
