Dear Birthmom

We want to thank you for reading about us and considering us to love, teach, encourage, and spoil your child. We know from discussions with Erin’s mom and relatives that this is not an easy decision. We’ve dreamed of becoming parents for so long, and because of you, our dream can come true.

We look forward to passing on our love of animals and the outdoors. We want to share our lives and teach your child the joys of knowledge and learning, as our parents taught us. We want to support your child in all they do and in all they will be. No matter what, we will love them unconditionally. We love each other deeply and want to share that warmth and safety with another.

We hope to expose your child to a whole world of opportunity, including travel to fun vacation places each year. We love to travel and hope to share that love with your child. Wanderlust is contagious, and we hope to give them the bug and love of travel as well.
Thank you again for reading this and letting us share our hopes and dreams for the future. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking this hard step of putting your faith in us. We won’t let you down.

Our Story

Hello! We’re Tom and Erin. We’ve been married for ten years, and we’re so ready to start our family. Tom is a finance manager and accountant for a multinational manufacturer. Tom is generally quiet, but he is reliable, enjoys a good history or science fiction book, and is always up for a sporting event. Tomás se habla Español un poco. Erin is a mortgage professional for a well-known national mortgage company. Erin cares deeply about the thoughts and struggles of others. She enjoys a good romance novel and snuggling with her pets, who are all momma’s boys. We recently moved into a larger house to accommodate Erin’s mom, Ann, who is disabled, so she could live with us.

 Our Extended Family

Tom comes from a large family with three other siblings and multiple cousins. They spread from Ireland to Mexico City. Most live in the Midwest with us, and we see them several times a year.

Some traditions we look forward to sharing are family game night after Thanksgiving dinner. Tom’s grandmother is still quite the cardshark! We try to return as often as possible for the family birthday celebration on New Year’s Day, where we celebrate several aunts, uncles, and cousins who have birthdays in late December and early January.

Erin has a smaller family, but they are more local, so we see them frequently. As we mentioned, Erin’s mom lives with us. She looks forward to showering her grandmotherly love on another child. With all of Erin’s first cousins within the state, family gatherings are more spur of the moment. When Erin’s half-brother comes into town or we meet in between, chances are good a ballgame will be involved.

 Our Home

We live in suburban Missouri. Our ranch-style home sits on a quiet cul-de-sac where neighbors have basketball hoops and soccer goals set up for their children. We have a fenced-in backyard with two large trees. We live close to several parks and love to go bicycling in the evenings. Our house is an open floor plan with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. There’s plenty of room for everyone, including Erin’s mom. The kitchen is one of our favorite rooms as we love to cook and look forward to passing on the joy of cooking we learned from our parents. We also have pets—a dog and four cats! Our pets love to have our nieces come over to play.

 Our Journey to Adoption

Our journey starts with Erin’s mom, Ann. Ann was adopted from Ireland by a local couple who wanted twins. Medical issues have always been a concern for us with a potential pregnancy, so knowing what a happy childhood the twins had together led us to really consider adoption from the start of our marriage. It wasn’t until 2015 that our world was changed however. We met Erin’s half-brother, who was adopted after birth in a closed adoption. Since meeting, we’ve incorporated our missing brother into our lives, learning so much about the adoption process from the perspective of the adoptee. We hope to have your child become the third generation of our family.
