Our Story

We are two down-to-earth guys who love building a joyful, simple life together. After more than fifteen years in our careers, plus Matt’s two busy years in graduate school and David’s demanding job, we really value our time to relax and reconnect. We love to explore, whether that means traveling, discovering new places, or checking off bucket-list experiences. Since moving from Florida, we’ve made it a tradition to spend our days off exploring new corners of the region, quiet beaches, hidden neighborhoods, and scenic trails. Our new city in California has also become a playground for trying new restaurants. From tiny hole-in-the-wall favorites to the latest must-try spots, we genuinely enjoy tasting our way through the city. At home, we keep things cozy and simple: cooking together, going out with friends, catching up with the people we love, or curling up on the couch with a good show.

 Our Extended Family

We both come from small, close-knit families that mean the world to us. David is a first-generation immigrant who came to the United States as a child, and he remains very close to his parents and siblings. He has several nieces and nephews, and we often gather with them for big family meals. One of our favorite traditions is enjoying homemade Hungarian dishes prepared by his mother, who loves cooking for the whole family. Matt’s family is spread across several states, but he stays connected to them. He is especially close with his niece, nephews, and two cousins he grew up with relationships that feel more like siblings than cousins. Because his family lives farther away, he plans yearly summer trips so he and the kids can all spend time together. Beyond relatives, we’re surrounded by a large extended family of lifelong friends who have supported, encouraged, and loved us throughout every chapter of our lives. Their presence and kindness have helped shape who we are, and we’re grateful to bring a child into such a caring and welcoming circle.

 Our Home

We live in a beautiful part of California that’s full of energy, community, and things to do. Our area is known for its farmers' markets, art fairs, street markets, food festivals, and endless opportunities to explore. We love attending concerts and sporting events, and we’re always discovering new places to enjoy great food. Our neighborhood is exactly what we hoped for: quaint, safe, walkable, and incredibly welcoming. We even have a grocery store just a block away, which makes everyday life easy and convenient. We share our home with three loving dogs: two Frenchies and a Great Dane. They adore attention, snuggles, and naps, and they bring so much warmth and joy into our home.

 Our Journey to Adoption

Becoming parents has always been a dream of ours, and now that we’re in our mid-thirties, we feel more ready and excited than ever. Watching our siblings raise their wonderful children, and being such a big part of their lives, has shown us how much joy a child brings to a family. As we started our adoption journey, finding an agency that embraced us as a same-sex couple was important. We truly believe that families are formed through love, connection, and the right timing. We can’t wait to share our happy, stable, laughter-filled life with a child and to give them every opportunity to feel supported, encouraged, and deeply loved.
