Dear Birthmom

Firstly and most importantly, we would like to share with you our immense gratitude for considering us as parents for your child. You have made an extremely difficult choice, and we hope to give you utmost confidence that your child will be raised in a loving, stable home.

We like to think we’re a good mix of personality traits when it comes to parenting. We are both fun-loving and enjoy a good laugh but are serious when we need to be. Jamie would help your baby ride their first bike and kick their first soccer ball and would show them which plants are safe to forage when going on hikes. Heather would give your baby their first piano or guitar lesson, and they’d make plenty of memories cooking together or building their first Lego creation. We’re eager to see what interests they’d take on themselves and would be there cheering them on every step of the way. Together, we’d instill in them confidence, authenticity, strength, and kindness—all traits we think would form a great foundation for a happy, rewarding life.

We deeply respect the incredible sacrifice and love you’ve demonstrated in your decision-making process. We want to assure you that if you choose us, your child will be cherished unconditionally and surrounded by warmth, encouragement, and endless opportunities to grow. Our commitment to your child's well-being is unwavering, and we eagerly anticipate the privilege of becoming parents and embarking on this meaningful journey together.

Our Story

Hello! We are Heather and Jamie. We are easygoing, kind people who don’t take ourselves too seriously. In our spare time, we like to go on adventures, whether it’s taking our two pups on a camping trip or seeing new sights outside of our home state. In her spare time, Jamie enjoys playing hockey, biking, golfing, and gardening. Heather plays piano in musicals for local theater companies and high school productions and also enjoys cooking and home projects. Jamie works an office job doing finances for a private company, while Heather’s real estate business allows her to work primarily from home. As a former music teacher, Heather still teaches the occasional music lesson. We make it a priority to spend time together getting ready for the day each morning as well as eating a meal together in the evenings. We both love spending time with each other and our dogs!

 Our Extended Family

We are both fortunate to come from large and loving extended families and both have fond memories of family get-togethers through the years. Heather’s immediate family consists of a mom, dad, and one brother, while Jamie’s family is made up of a dad and stepmom, a mom, and three half-siblings, one of whom is married and the mom to our sweet nephew.

We are close to both sides of our family. We go on vacation with them regularly, where we play games, cook meals together, visit local attractions, and overall just enjoy each other’s company. Though our siblings don’t live in the same city, we make it a point to see them several times a year. We enjoy spending major holidays with our immediate and extended families as well as getting together for birthdays and other special events, like Heather’s family’s annual apple picking and soup party every fall.

Additionally, we have an extremely tight-knit group of friends who live nearby. Many of these friends we’ve known for decades, and they have become family to us. We frequently get together with them and their young children, who like nephews and nieces to us.

 Our Home

We love where we live! We’re fortunate to be surrounded by caring neighbors who look out for one another, in an established neighborhood that is walkable to schools, parks, and shops. The city and amenities are close, and nature is just a quick bike ride away. Our home is a charming turn-of-the-century two-story where we love to spend time. There’s a fenced-in backyard where we garden, barbeque, and have the occasional fire on an autumn night. Our dogs, Stella and Sergei, love running around back there! Sergei particularly loves babies and would be so excited to welcome a little brother or sister. Stella would be very happy to be a real-life pillow for a little one.

 Our Journey to Adoption

We both always knew we wanted to become moms and, being a same-sex couple, decided early on that adoption was the route we wanted to take in our journey to parenthood. Between having adopted cousins and having friends who adopted a child themselves, we’ve seen firsthand the amazing impact adoption can have. We’ve found such joy sharing our experiences, adventures, and highs and lows with each other in our seven years together and would love the opportunity to share our love and grow our family with another member.
