Dear Birthmom
Dear Birthmom
Jenny says a mom is a mom is a mom. No matter who you are or why you have chosen a different life for your child, you’re still important. Considering an adoption plan is a very difficult thing to do.
We imagine taking our new little one everywhere! We’re all about finding “different” stuff. When we shop for Christmas or birthdays, we don’t like buying traditional or ordinary gifts. We don’t like to just go get clothes or toys or what-not like any other shopping day. One year our youngest got a pet rock because she laughed so hard watching a video of one. Another year, Wayne got a fake beard and bandana in honor of the Robertson family on TV (Duck Dynasty). We also try to keep the tradition of each of us getting an ornament that represents our favorite thing for that year.
All of our extended family is supportive and excited. They are wonderful people with a variety of experiences to share and are so loving. We will absolutely always focus on what is best for our children and our family as a whole, no matter what. We spend a TON of time together and will make sure that your child will never doubt how loved and special he or she is.
What we really want for you to know is we can and will give him or her our whole hearts! Always.

Our Story
Hi! We’re Jenny and Wayne. Wayne works in industrial maintenance, and Jenny is semi-retired from Animal Cruelty Investigations and Rescue. Jenny has been a homemaker for the last five years and will be a stay-at-home mom if we are blessed with a baby. We met in 2003 while visiting friends. From the first minute we met, we were immediate best friends. We know that may sound corny, but we feel so blessed to have each other. We really make an awesome team! In fact, we’re not sure if we know any other couple more affectionate or goofy with each other than we are after all this time!
Our Extended Family
Our extended families are spread so far apart we kind of wing it on most holidays. With one daughter already out of the house, married, and living several states away and the other on her way to college, our routine is in transition. In the past, Jenny would cook “big time” for Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas at home. We love big meals together, and we absolutely love cooking for special occasions, so we pretty much have an open door policy and invite as many friends and family as we can.
Now that our parents are aging, we are mostly making the drive to see them at their houses. Wayne’s parents have a large farm with ponds, wildlife, woods, four-wheelers, a pool, a boat, etc., so you can imagine how fun that is for the kids! The only real “rule” we have is that the kids are home for Christmas Eve and the morning. For Christmas and Easter we go hog wild with homemade desserts to give out. We also try to go to church with our parents on Easter and Christmas at least.

Our Home
We are in Kentucky and surrounded by horse farms, country markets, and family activities. Our town is a top-notch family community; there’s always something fun to do. We have been here for 16 years, and many of our neighbors are our original neighbors, so we’re more friends than just neighbors and look out for each other. What we like best is most of our neighbors have children and are really good people. Pets? We’ve had at least one of almost everything, but our favorite is dogs. The two we have now really don’t even know they’re not human, so don’t tell ’em, okay?
Our Journey to Adoption
Jenny met her stepdad when she was six and he has been a wonderful role model for her. He’s the person she strives to be like. Knowing how she feels about him, she has no reservations about being an adoptive parent. Jenny also adopted Wayne’s daughters and quickly forgot they weren’t hers biologically. Wayne doesn’t have adoption experience, except seeing the love Jenny has for them and her stepdad. We started trying to get pregnant when we got married. After several years, we decided on IVF and adoption at the same time, trying to keep it in God’s hands; whichever happened first was best. Voila! Here we are!
