Dear Birthmom

We want to thank you for the brave steps you are taking as you navigate this process of adoption—a time when you are having to balance going through a process like this, all while growing a child. We think about the challenges you are overcoming and how you are selflessly making decisions to ensure that your child has the future you choose.

We have been blessed in this life with an abundance of love, health, and family and make it a point to remind each other how thankful we are daily for all of the blessings we have. We have tried for a few years to grow our family and have learned the path to becoming parents for the second time is going to be different than how we had our first child. It became clear to us that connecting with you and your child through the hope of adoption is how we were always meant to grow our family. We often look around and see the spaces in our home that we know one day will be filled with a child, and we have no doubt that is what is meant for us and them.

So we thank you again for taking the time to read a small part of our story and to allow us to be considered as parents for your child. We truly wish you the best as you make these decisions and want nothing more than for your child to find the home you want for them.

Our Story

We have been married for ten years. We met after college and have been going strong ever since! Brandon is an engineer, and Megan is a physician recruiter. When we aren’t busy working, we try to maximize our free time by taking trips to the beach and mountains and spending time with friends and family. Our family is all about making memories and spending quality time together. We really enjoy having family game nights and cooking or grilling out together. Movie nights are also a weekly thing in our house, and we enjoy taking turns picking out the movie. We are an on-the-go kind of family and love staying active and keeping things fun and exciting!

 Our Extended Family

Megan’s parents live ten minutes away, so they are a big part of our everyday lives. Her parents enjoy going on beach trips with us and coming over for game night. They love going to our son’s sports and cheering him on. Megan is also very close to her grandparents and cousins. Her cousins’ children enjoy coming over for sleepovers and plenty of games of hide and seek. Each summer we take a big family trip together and go somewhere different every year. This year the whole family enjoyed a week at the lake and spent time kayaking, boating, and playing board games.

Brandon’s mother and father live about an hour away, and we enjoy seeing them as much as we can. They enjoy coming to visit us and keeping up with anything and everything we have going on.

Both of our families love celebrating birthdays and any holidays. We make an effort to have family dinners as often as possible to help us stay caught up on what everyone has going on in their busy lives. We are so blessed to both be so close to our families, who enjoy being involved in our lives.

 Our Home

We live in a great, family-oriented neighborhood in a four-bedroom home we moved to eight years ago. We really enjoy spending our time outside, especially in the summer. In North Carolina, we get to experience all four seasons. We love family bike rides through the neighborhood and enjoy having friends and family over for cookouts in the backyard. We are fortunate to live in the same area where we were raised. We moved back after college and live in a great community that always has great activities going on for kids and families. We recently added a sweet kitten to our household, named Dixie. Her favorite thing to do is cuddle up with a blanket on the couch beside us.

 Our Journey to Adoption

We currently have an eight-year-old son and had no problem getting pregnant the first time around. Later, after years of trying, we found out it was likely a miracle we were able to have one biological child. As fortunate as we are to have our son, we have always felt we have so much love to give and have envisioned growing our family. As much as this saddened us, we knew we weren’t ready to accept not having another child and thought adoption would be an amazing option for us. We love all things family and would love nothing more than to grow our family even more.
