Dear Birthmom

Dear Expectant Mother,

We would like to start by saying thank you. Thank you for considering adoption and viewing us as a potential family for your child. We don’t know what led you to this decision, but we hope you are able to find peace in knowing you have chosen a life for your child where they will be considered the most amazing blessing and will be cherished every day.

Wherever this journey takes you, we want you to know we admire you for taking this step and considering adoption. Your selflessness and courage provide hope to families like ours. If you do choose us to be on this journey with you, please know you are very loved and supported by us. We will forever be thankful for you and your choice to bless us with a child. We have longed for a child to share our lives with, and we hope that in viewing our profile, you can feel the love we already have for your child. Our family and friends are just as excited for this journey and are ready to welcome your child into our lives with great love!

Thank you for considering us and taking the time to read our profile. We hope that we get an opportunity to talk with you and get to know you, and you get to know us (if you desire). But if we don’t, we pray that you find the best family for your child and feel at peace with creating an adoption plan.

With love,
Jimmy and Ashley

Our Story

We truly enjoy being together. We enjoy spending time with our family as much as possible, both our in-state and out-of-state family. We enjoy traveling and exploring. We enjoy cooking together, working in the yard, learning how to do home projects, and going to craft shows, vintage markets, and antique stores. We enjoy concerts and live music events. We like hiking and going for walks. We also enjoy finding a comedy or documentary to watch for a quiet night in. We share our life with three fur babies. While Ashley tends to play it safe in life, Jimmy is more adventurous; this makes for a good balance in our lives. Ashley is a nurse and works from home. Jimmy is an electrician. We have weekends and evenings off to spend together or with family. We spend most of our time laughing and being silly together. We take more of a lighthearted approach to life.

 Our Extended Family

Ashley is the oldest of three. Her brother is engaged and has three children. Her sister is getting established and will also be pursuing the adoption process in the future. Ashley’s family lives five hours away, but they never miss a beat in each other’s lives.

Jimmy is the youngest of two. His family lives nearby. We enjoy getting together with his sister and brother-in-law for live music or other community events. We have dinner and game nights frequently with his parents.

One of the things we love most about our families is that our parents and siblings are always asking when they will see each other again. When Ashley’s family is in town, we will often host everyone for a cookout and games. We try to alternate holidays with families, but Thanksgiving is always our holiday to host! This is Ashley’s favorite holiday, and we enjoy cooking the largest feast with all of the sides you can think of! Ashley also claims Halloween. She likes to decorate in fun Halloween decor and dress up. She makes chili and crock-pot mac-n-cheese (a tradition from her childhood), decorates cookies, and makes appetizers that are Halloween themed. We love to see all of the kids dressed up and having fun on that day!

 Our Home

We live in a smaller neighborhood in Northwest Indiana. We have a newer four bedroom, 2 ½-bath home with a basement. We share our home with two dogs and a cat. We have a large yard so plenty of room to play and run. Our neighborhood is like its own community. We live in a school district with a 97% graduation rate that ranks within the top 5% for the state. We are only ten minutes from the small downtown area that offers several community events in the summer, such as family movie nights and live music, which we look forward to every summer. We are 20 minutes away from Lake Michigan, which we spend quite a bit of time enjoying.

 Our Journey to Adoption

We are extremely excited to hopefully be able to share our life with a child. A few things we look forward to are being able to take them to the beach near our home, playing in the yard with them, sharing in their imagination, and being able to watch our family interact with them and them interact with our family. Being parents is something we both greatly desire; however, we are unable to have biological children. We have never felt biology is what determines a family. We feel that love, respect, memories, and dedication make a family. We would love to have the opportunity to share our lives, our traditions, and our family with a child as we also make new traditions and memories!
