Dear Birthmom

Dear Expectant Mother,

We want to thank you for taking the time to read our profile. You have probably read quite a few profiles as you have been considering adoption for your child. Whether you choose us as prospective parents or go a different direction, we want to assure you our hope is that your decision will bring you a sense of comfort that you have made the right choice. Your peace of mind is too important, and your child is too precious for anything less.

We want to assure you we are committed to being the best parents and family we can be for our future child. We will work hard to keep them safe, help them grow, and make sure they know their mother loves them. We will surround them with grandparents, cousins, and pets. We look forward to giving them opportunities to explore the world and discover their passions, starting with trips to the park and walks around our neighborhood.

We don’t know each other yet, but we hope we will be able to meet sometime in the near future. We are committed to adoption as the way to welcome a child into our lives and are excited to get to know you and hear about your hopes for your child.

Jon and Will

Our Story

We are an easygoing couple who love spending time together and with our families. We have been together for 12 years and married for six. Will is very active and enjoys running, biking, and anything else outside. Jon is a little bit more laidback; he enjoys riding his bike but also loves to just hang out with the dogs and watch Netflix. We look forward to spending summer weekends up at the family lake house in Wisconsin. Fishing, tubing, waterskiing, and just floating around on the lake are some of our favorite activities. In the winter months, we love to travel somewhere warm or focus on big projects around the house, like remodeling and repainting. We both work full-time. Will works mostly from home, and Jon works in retail stores that are being remodeled. Both of us love what we do.

 Our Extended Family

We both come from small families. Jon has a sister, an adorable niece, and a handsome nephew. Will lost his brother, a wildland firefighter, six years ago but remains close with his sister-in-law. Will also has five cousins that grew up within two blocks of him, three of whom still live in the area with their families. We are both close with our parents and love traveling and spending time with them. Will and his mom walk the dogs together every Friday morning, while Will’s dad comes over to the house on winter weekends to help with those big remodeling projects.

One of our favorite parts of living so close to our family is having everyone together at Will’s parents’ lake house. We love having Jon's sister and her family come over for the kids (and adults) to go tubing, swimming, and fishing. We hosted a pig roast at the lake for the whole family last year and had such a good time that we decided to make it a tradition. We also spend a lot of time fishing with Jon’s mom at the lake house. A few times a year we all go together to fish on Lake Michigan.

 Our Home

We live in the home Will grew up in with our two standard poodles, Oban and Skye, and our toy poodle, Coconut. Our house is a colonial with a large, fenced-in backyard. We are a block away from a large park, and another even larger park is just a mile away. Will’s parents and two sets of aunts and uncles all live in the same neighborhood. The house is not only where Will grew up but also the same house his dad grew up in. Needless to say, it is full of great memories. We are really hoping for the opportunity to continue the tradition ourselves! The local schools are nearby and very well regarded. The neighborhood we live in is full of young families; in fact, our front yard is the bus stop!

 Our Journey to Adoption

We have been thinking about adoption for years while we also considered surrogacy. We found a potential surrogate, but we really fell in love with the idea of adoption once we started talking to family and friends. They shared their experiences and helped us realize how positive and meaningful the adoption process can be for us, for the birth parents, and for the child. We have so much love for each other, and we can’t wait to be able to share it with a child.
